This is a genuine leadership role, leading a team while owning the governance, compliance and continuous improvement of trade spend processes across ANZ. This role has been created to cover an internal secondment — an opportunity for the right candidate to make a real impact in a dynamic, fast-paced FMCG environment.How you will contributeYou will:Leading, coaching and developing a team, fostering a high-performance, customer-centric cultureOverseeing the end-to-end governance and compliance of trade spend processes across ANZ, ensuring adherence to policy, audit requirements and Sarbanes-Oxley controlsEnsuring timely and accurate processing of promotion/scan deal claims, rebates and trading term settlements within specified timeframesMonitoring and reporting on trade spend performance metrics including claims aging, DSO impact, master data accuracy and account reconciliationsReconciling trade spend accruals with claims and reporting any discrepanciesBuilding and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders across Commercial, Finance Business Partners, Customer Development and Accounts Receivable teamsIdentifying, analysing and recommending process improvement initiatives — building the business case and driving implementationDeveloping and maintaining trade spend policies, procedures and governance frameworks, ensuring consistency across the ANZ businessEnsuring all trade spend documents are processed in an audit-compliant manner and within agreed timeframesDriving scorecard reporting and KPI monitoring, providing accurate and timely performance insights to senior leadershipManaging escalations effectively and coaching team members in issue resolutionProactively seeking to minimise Cost to Serve and achieve budget targets while raising the bar on team performance.Maintain and continuously improve Trade Spend Policy documentation, ensuring alignment with business requirements, regulatory obligations, and best-practice governance standards.Lead role in all Internal and External Trade Spend audits, including audit preparation, evidence coordination, stakeholder engagement, and management of findings through to resolution.Deliver monthly reporting and analysis on high-risk audit areas identified through prior audit findings, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.Proactively identify emerging audit risks and implement mitigation strategies to reduce organisational exposure and ensure control effectiveness.Manage Continuous Controls Monitoring (CCM) reporting, investigating exceptions and driving resolution with relevant stakeholders.Actively work with Commercial and OTC teams to build strong knowledge and awareness of governance frameworks, internal controls, and individual accountabilities.Act as the bridge between Finance, Sales, and OTC to ensure alignment on trade spend processes, dispute resolution, and claims management.Identify opportunities for process improvement and standardisation across trade spend operations.Monitor and report on key metrics including claims balances, First Pass Yield (FPY), out-of-period adjustments, and dispute aging.Design and deliver training programs to upskill Sales, Finance, and OTC teams on trade spend governance, controls, and system processes.What you will bringA desire to drive your future and accelerate your career and the following experience and knowledge:Proven experience in tradespend, accounts receivable or commercial finance, ideally within FMCG or a comparable fast-paced environmentStrong working knowledge of tradespend processes including promotions, scan deals, rebates, trading term claims and settlementsExperience leading and developing teams in a shared services or finance operations environment, with a track record of building capable, results-driven teamsDeep understanding of governance, compliance and audit frameworks — experience with Sarbanes-Oxley controls is highly desirableStrong SAP proficiency (SD/FI modules preferred) and advanced Excel skillsExceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate and collaborate across all levels of the businessStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a rigorous approach to data and reportingExcellent verbal and written communication skills — comfortable presenting insights and performance updates to senior leadersA continuous improvement mindset — you identify what can be done better and you drive itHigh attention to detail, energy, resilience and a genuine drive for resultsMore about this roleWhat you need to know about this position:24-month contract opportunity, Head Office based with hybrid working available. Responsibilities
