We’re seeking someone to join our team as an Vice President Data Governance Role.In the Firm Risk Management division, we advise businesses across the Firm on risk mitigation strategies, develop tools to analyze and monitor risks and lead key regulatory initiatives.Since 1935, Morgan Stanley is known as a global leader in financial services, always evolving and innovating to better serve our clients and our communities in more than 40 countries around the world.What you’ll do in the role:Leading a team to drive execution of prioritized data initiatives in compliance with the Global Data Policy and BCBS239 requirements across FRMGoverning and advising risk coverage teams to identify and document risk data ownership, authority, sourcing, controls and qualityIdentifying and executing and work on areas for improvement in processes related to risk data managementLiaising with data quality working groups across the Firm on pertinent issues Senior management reporting and presentationsTeam Management including mentor/coaching junior team members, provide supervisory oversight, coordination of the team’s tasks and escalating issues in a timely mannerDevelop and implement ongoing update, review and control for prioritized risk dataWhat you’ll bring to the role:Possess Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, or a related discipline10+ years of work experience in the financial services industry preferably in risk management, finance, operation or equivalent experienceStrong understanding of risk management concepts and financial products, particularly with respect to commercial financial market data Knowledge and exposure to US, EMEA and UK financial regulations including BCBS 239 and Basel III pertaining to risk data aggregation/reporting is preferredThe ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders effectively and thoughtfully Strong organizational and project management skills Strong Excel and PowerPoint skillsWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY: At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals.
