The RoleWe are interested in speaking with high performing Investment Banking Associates based in Sydney or Melbourne who are interested in opportunities within our M&A practice, across a range of industry groups including Natural Resources, Technology Media and Telco, and General Industrials. As part of our continued investment in our Australian Investment Banking franchise, we are seeking candidates with strong transaction execution experience and a demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality client outcomes.Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on complex and high-profile transactions, partnering closely with senior bankers, corporate clients, financial sponsors and other market participants. Key ResponsibilitiesExecute a broad range of M&A and strategic advisory transactions across Australia and the Asia Pacific regionDevelop and maintain sophisticated financial models and valuation analysesPrepare client presentations, strategic reviews, pitch materials and transaction documentationManage day-to-day execution workstreams in collaboration with clients, lawyers, accountants and other advisersReview and oversee the work product of Analysts and provide guidance on modelling and analytical assignmentsSupport senior bankers in business development activities and client relationship managementEnsure the delivery of high-quality work products within demanding timeframes Qualifications & Experience3-6 years of relevant investment banking experience, preferably within M&A, Natural Resources or an industry coverage group with substantial transaction exposureDemonstrated experience executing complex M&A, strategic advisory and/or capital markets transactionsAdvanced financial modelling, valuation and analytical skillsStrong understanding of accounting, corporate finance and financial statement analysisAbility to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation development and client-facing materialsWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY: At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals. Required Qualifications

  • 3-6 years of relevant investment banking experience, preferably within M&A, Natural Resources or an industry coverage group with substantial transaction exposure (experience, 6 years)
  • Demonstrated experience executing complex M&A, strategic advisory and/or capital markets transactions (experience)
  • Advanced financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills (experience)
  • Strong understanding of accounting, corporate finance and financial statement analysis (experience)
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment (experience)
