These solutions include initial public offerings; public and private equity and equity-linked financings; mergers, acquisitions and restructurings; defense advisory assignments; strategic partnerships; public and private debt placements; share repurchases; hedging, swaps and derivative transactions.About the RoleStrats are embedded within banking teams and provide quantitative analysis, data-driven insights, and customized tools to deliver bespoke solutions to stakeholders.The successful candidate would work alongside the IT team, other Strats, and senior management while being fully immersed with bankers to understand pain points and opportunities.We are looking for self-motivated individuals with combined technical/quantitative skills and business expertise to identify and develop productivity, revenue generation, and risk reduction solutions for IBD globally.This is a highly dynamic, fast-paced role with global impact across the Investment Banking Division.What You’ll DoPerform data-driven analysis to provide strategic insights into industry trends, deal opportunities and client strategies.Build and maintain software, tools and dashboards to streamline and enhance efficiency in client pitches, transaction execution, and reporting.Work closely with IBD Management and IBD Bankers globally on developing productivity, revenue generation, and risk reduction solutions.Analyze and interpret business requirements to proactively identify opportunities and improvement areas.Collaborate with industry, regional and product teams to provide bespoke and innovative quantitative analysis to utilize within client deliverables.Leverage software development, machine learning and/or AI tools to improve processes such as comparable company analysis, precedent transactions and financial projections.Own the full lifecycle of metrics development, including the process of data sourcing, data architecture design, implementation, and visualization.Communicate and manage strategic projects for senior bankers and leadership across regions, industry groups, and product teams. Serve as a liaison between business and IT to project manage and deliver innovative solutions for investment banking.Gain expertise in investment banking processes and financial products to inform decision-making related to the responsibilities listed above.What We’re Looking ForBachelor’s or advanced degree in quantitative field such as Mathematics, Computer Science/Engineering or Finance/Economics with software development experience.Proficiency in Python, competence with SQL/NoSQL databases.Interested in financial concepts, including valuation, capital structure and M&A.Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Be accurate, paying careful attention to detail and working thoughtfully and independently.Prior experience in investment banking, management consulting or a similar analytical role is a plus.#LI-hybrid #LI-NB1 BPMMWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY: At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals.
