The Role:Northrop Grumman Australia’s Future Business team is responsible for identifying, shaping and progressing the next generation of opportunities across the business.The team works at the front end of the lifecycle, well before formal Defence requirements, tenders or funding approvals exist, to understand emerging capability needs, engage with stakeholders, and develop concepts that can be progressed into future programs.This includes:Analysing capability, operational and market signalsEngaging with Defence, industry and internal stakeholdersShaping early‑stage ideas into credible opportunities aligned to NGA’s long‑term strategyWithin that context, this role focuses specifically on the air domain.The Business Development and Capture Manager is a strategic position focused on shaping where NGA invests in air sustainment and modernisation over the next decade and beyond.This role is built around operator credibility. It requires someone who has worked on the operational side of aircraft and can engage capability leaders and operators as a peer.NB: This role requires Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain or currently hold Baseline clearance as a minimum.Key Responsibilities You will operate ahead of the formal acquisition process, where influence, insight and credibility matter more than process or artefacts.Identify and interpret operational and capability gaps in air sustainment and modernisationEngage directly with operators and capability leaders to shape early‑stage conceptsTranslate operational need into credible, fundable opportunitiesWork with engineering and sustainment teams to develop executable solutionsInfluence internal investment direction and prioritisationProvide leadership and guidance across the Future Business teamAbout You You are ex‑RAAF or ADF, with direct aircrew or operational experience on aircraft.
