This position may be in Falls Church, VA or Linthicum, MD. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Providing effective legal counsel in the areas of export/import (including ITAR, EAR and technology release) and sanctions (including OFAC) compliance for Corporate (enterprise) and Company operating Sectors, including non-U.S. subsidiaries and affiliates. Performing investigations relating to export/import and sanctions, preparing Voluntary Disclosures and responding to USG Requests for Information. Engaging with U.S. Government export and import compliance agencies.Developing and maintaining effective interface with internal Law Department, Global Trade, Transportation/Traffic, Contracts, Program and Global Supply Chain personnel throughout the enterprise, including managing project-specific multifunctional teams from across the enterprise.Managing outside counsel and effectively engaging industry partners.Qualifications & SkillsBasic Qualifications:A Juris Doctorate and active state bar membership.Minimum 10 years of legal experience, directly related, broad and in-depth experience in ITAR and EAR in a law firm or as in-house counsel.Superior oral and written communication skills, with experience briefing senior management on matters involving significant legal exposure or risk to the Company.Extensive experience managing and effectively prioritizing legal issues for operations and activities in multiple international jurisdictions.Exceptional integrity, outstanding analytical skills and strategic thinking, exceptional judgment, discretion and a record of managing complex legal matters.Strong business acumen and exceptional ability for collaboration, teamwork and motivation of others through thought leadership, coordinating with various functions inside and outside the company. Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance as a condition of continued employment. Preferred Qualifications: Previous in-house experience, especially in the defense community.An active U.S. Department of Defense security clearance at the Secret level or higher.Expertise with FAR, DFAR, and other U.S. Government agencies’ rules and practices.Primary Level Salary Range: $222,700.00 - $335,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
