This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.Roles and Responsibilities:Design, develop, and implement flight software algorithms to support guidance, navigation, and control functions for the air vehicleDesign, develop, and implement simulation software to test and verify mission requirements for the air vehicleNavigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical realityGuidance functions include the formulation of specific equations to achieve a desired position, orientation, or trajectoryControl design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control laws and hardware and software requirements for air vehiclesUtilize excellent communication skills to report program milestones, technical approaches, and findings to GNC as well as program managementGeneral frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks. Understanding of Guidance, Navigation and Control Systems.Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of increasing scope and complexity as assignedDiscretion/Latitude: Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. Works under general supervision.Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects. Failure to achieve results or inadequate work product should be detected by supervisory oversight but may cause delay in program schedules and allocation of additional resourcesLiaison: Primarily internal company contacts. Preferred Qualifications:Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical EngineeringDemonstrated experience in design, development, and validation of guidance, navigation, and control systems integrating flight critical hardware, software, and algorithmsActive US Government Secret clearancePrimary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
