This position will be located in Melbourne, FL. In this role, you will contribute to the overall development and integration of RF Subsystems, including analyzing performance, developing and managing requirements and interfaces, and verifying/validating all allocated requirements. Responsibilities include: Support development and integration of communications and other RF subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectivesRequirements development, analysis, maturation and implementation translating customer requirements into derived specificationsPerform Computational Electromagnetic (CEM) antenna analysis for source/victim (co-site) analysisConducting detailed trade studiesPerforming risk analysis and developing mitigation plans and tracking to closureCollaborate with engineers and program stakeholdersDeveloping and maintaining supplier documentation, performance based specifications, and statements of workTechnical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test supportReview documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviewsIdentifying/planning/executing informal and formal testing of subsystem requirements in lab, troubleshooting hardware in the labPerforming aircraft ground and flight test on subsystems to validate and verify subsystem requirement and sell-offSupport technical discussions with the customer and having daily interaction with management, external personnel, customers, and various sub teamsExpected Skills:Knowledge of electromagnetics in the RF spectrum (VHF through Ka bands)Ability to design, select and characterize RF components to meet mission objectivesKnowledge of system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation and interface control documentationAbility to review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviewStrong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a close team environmentThis role may be filled at either the Principal or Senior Principal level based on the qualifications below:Basic QualificationsAt a Principal Level:Must have a Bachelors degree in a STEM field and at least 5 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field and at least 3 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a PhD and at least 1 year of relevant military / professional / academic experienceAt a Senior Principal Level:Must have a Bachelors degree in a STEM field and at least 8 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field and at least 6 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a PhD and at least 4 years of relevant military / professional experienceAnd at Both Levels:Must have an active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.Experience in Computational Electromagnetic (CEM) antenna analysis for source/victim (co-site) analysisMust have experience in one or more of the following:Designing, integrating, testing, installing, operating LOS and BLOS communication systems in airborne military applicationsExperience with voice, military and network waveformsExperience with cryptographic implementationsExperience with RF antenna and component design and performance analysisMust have data analysis experienceMust have experience in supplier/subcontract managementMust have experience with developing supplier documentation, performance based specifications, and statements of work Preferred Qualifications:Experience engaging directly with internal and external technical and programmatic representativesDemonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skillsDemonstrated ability to assimilate new concepts quickly and independently and work in a self-directed mannerExperience in model based systems engineering using Cameo or similar SysML toolsExperience in performance analysis using MATLAB and Excel or similar toolsFamiliarity with Atlassian collaboration tool set (Jira and Confluence)Experience building supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selectionActive US Government Top Secret ClearancePrimary Level Salary Range: $152,100.00 - $228,100.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
