Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal level Software Engineer to fill a very important role in Huntsville, AL.The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, maintaining, updating, and documenting sensor registration algorithm and software functionality including capabilities supporting multiple sensors per platform and multiple platforms in local and remote tracking networks. Investigate and prototype sensor registration approaches for new sensors and stakeholder-defined capabilities, respond rapidly to urgent software behavior issues and anomalies, and analyze test data to diagnose tracking and bias estimation anomalies while developing and implementing mitigations. Familiarity with Kalman filters, statistical methods, linear algebra, statistics, and radar tracking algorithms is highly preferred.Other responsibilities include:Write high-performance, resource-constrained embedded code using C++ and C.Develop radar signal-processing, target tracking, and sensor-fusion algorithms.Take data measurements from radar sensorsRemove biases from the sensors and correct them to improve tracking and align better with each otherFielding questions and briefing team members about how the system works50% C/C++ programming/50% performing analyses, troubleshooting, and explaining the “why”Doing computations for the algorithm formulae for calculating the tracking, bias, data fusion of fixed-wing aircraft, missiles, drones, etc.Technical writing /algorithm documentationBasic Qualifications: Principal level- 5 Years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in STEM field; 3 Years relevant experience with Masters degree; 0 Years of relevant experience with PhDSr Principal level- 9 Years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in STEM field; 7 Years relevant experience with Masters degree; 4 Years of relevant experience with PhDC/C++,MATLAB (Can be substituted with Python, Mathematica, or any computer algebra application)Active Secret Security ClearancePreferred Qualifications: Geodetic Registration related experienceJavaPythonExperience with Integrated Battle Command SystemExperience with Joint Track Management Capability BridgeMBSE (Cameo)Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
