The candidate will support Agile development of MS Windows and cloud-based solutions as a Product Owner and Systems Engineer, performing engineering analysis to define internal and external interfaces, data and user workflows, system architecture and design for new capabilities, as part of the Mission Planning and Decision Support Operating Unit (OU).Daily responsibilities include:Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, requirements maturation, interface definition, detailed trade studies, to translate customer requirements into software specificationsDevelop and maintain engineering artifacts, drawings, documentation and support generation of reports and CDRLs related updates.Develop User Stories and Acceptance Criteria for the mission planning productsWork closely with software development team to implement new capabilities and ensure requirements are metSupport iterative development of UI/UX concepts and designs with customer feedbackEnsure compliance with engineering processes and standards and contribute to technical problem-solving efforts to mitigate risks and resolve issuesEnsure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraintsMay include travel to other locationsBasic Qualifications for Systems Engineer:BS or higher degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or Physics from an ABET accredited university2+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree OR 0 years experience with a master’s degree in a related discipline1+ years experience in one or more of the following Systems Engineering activities: operational concept/workflow development, interface analysis, requirements development and management, authoring engineering reports and documentation, participation in major milestones, design reviews1+ years experience applying knowledge of electromagnetic theory in the RF spectrum, signals processingKnowledge of system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation and interface control documentation Experience as a Systems Engineer on an Agile software development effortActive DoD Secret security clearance investigated within the last 5 yearsAbility to obtain and maintain SAP clearanceAbility to work on-site in Manhattan Beach (CA) or Melbourne (FL)Basic Qualifications for Principal Systems Engineer:BS or higher degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or Physics from an ABET accredited university and 5 years of experience OR 3 years experience with a master’s degree in a related discipline2+ years experience in one or more of the following Systems Engineering activities: operational concept/workflow development, leadership role in interface analysis, requirements development and management, primary author on engineering reports and documentation, leadership role in milestones, design reviews2+ years experience applying knowledge of electromagnetic theory, RF propagation, signals processing, e.g., designing, developing, integrating, and/or testing roleStrong understanding of systems engineering principles and processesExperience with system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation and interface control documentation Experience as a Systems Engineer on an Agile software development effortDemonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills Demonstrated ability to assimilate new concepts quickly and independently and work in a self-directed mannerActive DoD Secret security clearance investigated within the last 5 yearsAbility to obtain and maintain SAP clearanceAbility to work on-site in Manhattan Beach (CA) or Melbourne (FL)Preferred Qualifications:Active DoD SAP ClearanceExperience using or developing military aircraft mission planning systemsExperience with risk and opportunity managementGeneral understanding of networks, interoperability, and “system of systems” conceptsExperience with voice, military and network waveformsExperience with mathematical algorithm development, MATLAB, modeling/simulationExperience with UI/UX developmentExperience with MBSE ToolsExperience in scripting/programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, .Net, Java, C, and C#Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (such as, Security+)Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $137,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $171,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
