Job Description

We are looking for a motivated Intern (f/m/d) to support our embedded software development activities in the automotive domain. You will work closely with experienced engineers on real-world projects with complex networking challenges in Automotive Ethernet, communication stacks, and system-level debugging.This role offers hands-on exposure to developing automotive software of excellent quality and is ideal for students who want to deepen their practical skills alongside their studies.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain embedded C software for automotive ECUsWork with TCP/IP stacks from LwIP, FreeRTOS, Zephyr, and Linux environments to develop standalone SW for automotive use cases.Debug software and hardware issues using Lauterbach, P&E Micro, or similar toolsPerform root-cause analysis of software and HW-related faultsSupport software design, and documentation activitiesRequired QualificationsCurrently enrolled in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded or Automotive SystemsStrong C programming skills for embedded systemsFamiliarity with OSI layers, AUTOSAR communication and diagnostics conceptsExperience with at least one RTOS or embedded OS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, Linux)Experience with low-level debugging and hardware bring-upGood software design and analytical skillsWhat NXP OffersAn attractive monthly salaryThe possibility to work in a hybrid setupFlexible working hours2.5 days of vacation per month incase of volutary internshipNetworking initiatives and Employee Resource Groups such as Young Community, No Extra Planet, NXP Equal, Women in NXP, and more — fostering both professional and personal exchangePlease note: Due to local regulations, internships in Hamburg must be a mandatory part of your study program. Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded or Automotive Systems (experience)
  • Strong C programming skills for embedded systems (experience)
  • Familiarity with OSI layers, AUTOSAR communication and diagnostics concepts (experience)
  • Experience with at least one RTOS or embedded OS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, Linux) (experience)
  • Experience with low-level debugging and hardware bring-up (experience)
  • Good software design and analytical skills (experience)

Responsibilities
