JOB TITLE:Advanced RF Repair Technician, ExternalJOB SUMMARY: We are seeking an experienced Bench Technician with strong expertise in semiconductor RF repair to join our Internal Repair Facility in ATMC, Austin. This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, modifying, testing, and verifying complex electronic and electro-mechanical equipment at the component level, including RF matchers and generators.The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong troubleshooting capability, the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and expertise with advanced test equipment and circuit analysis.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and repair complex automatic and logic-controlled electronic systems at the component levelPerform troubleshooting and failure analysis of RF equipment, including matchers and generatorsModify and test sub-components to meet operational requirementsConduct detailed root cause analysis of major equipment malfunctionsSet up, operate, and adjust advanced diagnostic and measurement instrumentationDevelop or improvise circuits or test setups to support unique repair scenariosWork independently to complete assigned repairs with minimal supervisionMaintain documentation and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and customersRequired Skills & QualificationsStrong background in RF electronics repair, preferably in semiconductor equipmentSolid knowledge of:Analog and digital electronicsCircuit design (intermediate level)Diagnostic and troubleshooting techniquesProficiency with complex test equipment and instrumentationVoltage metersESROscilloscopeSignal generators etc.Good mechanical aptitudeHave skills to read schematics and understand circuits.Repair RF Matchers and Generators as well as complex PCB and Controllers using root cause methodology down to component level.Able to perform post repair testing with knowledge of load testing and or signal generation.Enter information into our internal databasePerform through-hole, surface mount and fine pitch solderingBasic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with shifting prioritiesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsPhysical & Work RequirementsAbility to lift 50+ pounds as neededAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionAdherence to all safety protocols, including:Electrical safetyMechanical safetyChemical safetyWork EnvironmentHigh-performance repair facility settingDynamic workload with evolving prioritiesRegular interaction with customers, technicians, and managementQualifications:Minimum associates degree in ElectronicsMinimum 5 years’ experience working in bench repair field on Matching units and Generators (i.e. Advanced Energy, Odyssey)Experience in RF theory and AC/DC circuit designEducation and Experience:Minimum associates degree in ElectronicsMinimum 5 years’ experience working in bench repair fieldExperience in AC/DC circuit designAdditional Skills and Targeted Experience:Understanding of Smith Charts, spectrum analyzerHigh Power DC supply repair, testing and calibration ranging from 1kW to 80kW.AC and DC Servo/Stepper motor rebuild and test.Advanced experience in AC and DC circuitry, advance test equipment, simulation software, and discrete semiconductor characteristics.Labview, Multi-Sim, Cadence or equivalent electrical design software.Hardware programming language (VHDL, Verilogic, JTAG, etc.)NOTE:Job components stated are representative of the position and are not intended to be an exhaustive/detailed list.
