This clerk will successfully provide administrative assistance to the operations department including working with drivers to assign routes and process paperwork, answering telephones to set appointments, trace shipments or route to the appropriate person.Responsibilities:Answer telephones and emails in a prompt and courteous manner to provide customer service including setting appointments and tracing shipmentsPrepare and maintain daily paperwork to move freight including DOT files to ensure confidentiality, accuracy and timelinessPrepare a variety of documents and reports using AS400 and SAPScan documents such as Bill of Ladings and Delivery Receipts into our systemClose city pickups to the dock and generate manifests for the dockworkersAssist supervisors with assigning drivers to routes and processing drivers’ paperworkPrepare a variety of transportation related documents including dock delivery/drop offs, driver returns, and damage/overage documentsProvide exceptional customer service to internal and external customersQualifications:High School Degree or equivalent preferred.3 year of office and/or operations experience, preferably in the transportation industryExperience in using handheld computers/scanners preferredExperience with AS400 and SAP preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDetail orientedProficient in Microsoft applications, such as Outlook, Word and ExcelCompensation Range:The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Required Qualifications
