Agency:GSD&MJob Function:MediaJob Subfunction: Media Planning and BuyingJob Description:The ideal candidate possesses:A four-year college degreeMinimum of five years of total media planning experience, with at least one year of traditional planningCPG experience requiredOne to two years’ experience supervising the direct work of media planners and assistant media plannersAbility to manage up as well, keeping supervisors and directors informedExperience in developing and maintaining key client relationshipsAbility to multi-task smoothly - responsibilities include reporting to multiple accounts and managementAbility to effectively communicate traditional and digital media strategy to clients who may or may not have media marketing expertiseCompelling and confident presentation skills - both in writing and delivering the presentation – and well versed in the art of storytelling when putting together recommendationsAbility to condense complex ideas into comprehensible pieces, and high accuracy in analyzing large sets of dataProven ability to think critically, analyze performance and opportunities, and look for unconventional solutionsProactive and confident in finding ways to bring to life new technologies to educate clients and the agencyExperience planning and implementing brand building media campaigns including:Digital Specific: CPM, CPCV, CPVC and CPA media placements, Search marketing, Rich mediaOther channels, including national and local broadcast (radio & TV), print, emerging, sponsorships, PR, etc.Specific Skills required:Usage of interactive tools (or other related products): Doubleclick, Prisma, comScore, Google Analytics (plus experience with verification partners – Moat, IAS, DoubleVerify)Usage of planning tools (or other related products): Simmons/MRI/Scarborough, Kantar Stradegy, Reach/Frequency tools, SQADMS Office: Excel, Word and PowerPointThe JobProvide strategic and tactical direction to media planners and assistant media planners while maintaining some day-to-day planning responsibilities:Work with Account Leadership and other teams to determine and meet client specific needsUtilize available media planning tools to develop digital and traditional media strategiesPresent media plans directly to clientsNegotiate with digital and print media vendors and provide a final negotiated recommendation to the clientCollaborate with Account Leadership, Creative and Production to ensure creative specifications of negotiated plans are metSupervise trafficking process (via creative or through Doubleclick)Report campaign performance to clientsOptimize the campaign with media vendorsProvide a final analysis at the conclusion of a campaignServe as a mentor and provide conduits for professional growth among the teamDevelop POVs as needed based on client and planning team requestsAggressively keep abreast of the current media landscape and actively provide relevant information about media trends to planning teams and clientsMaintain positive working relationship with media vendorsOptimize resource management and help smooth operational processesReports to Media Director Omnicom’s policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, unless additional in-office days are directed by their agency or manager.
