Agency:PHd Job Function:Media Job Subfunction: Media Planning and BuyingJob Description:About the jobPosition SummaryThe Associate Director, Performance is a strategic leader who provides integrated digital media expertise and data-driven recommendations while managing a team of digital specialists across search, social, and programmatic channels. Managing either a complex multi-line-of-business client or multiple client accounts, this role strengthens client relationships by applying performance marketing expertise to drive measurable results and ensure clients remain current with industry best practices.The Associate Director will drive performance strategy across teams and clients, ensuring all digital recommendations are strategically integrated and that teams collaborate cohesively in support of business objectives. This role requires deep expertise in digital marketing channels and a comprehensive understanding of how performance marketing integrates with and influences broader marketing initiatives.Strategic & PlanningDevelop and execute performance marketing strategies across digital channelsLead campaign planning and optimization initiativesCollaborate with clients to establish KPIs and performance targetsConduct market analysis and competitive research to identify opportunitiesCampaign ManagementOversee day-to-day management of performance marketing campaignsMonitor campaign performance metrics and ROI continuouslyOptimize bidding strategies across paid search, social, and display channelsA/B test creative, messaging, and targeting approachesManage campaign budgets and ensure efficient spendingTeam LeadershipMentor and supervise junior team members and coordinatorsAssign tasks and manage workflow within the performance teamProvide guidance on best practices and campaign optimization techniquesConduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedbackClient ManagementServe as key client contact for performance marketing initiativesPresent campaign insights, recommendations, and results to clientsAddress client concerns and implement requested optimizationsBuild and maintain strong client relationshipsAnalytics & ReportingCreate comprehensive performance reports and dashboardsAnalyze data to identify trends, patterns, and optimization opportunitiesPresent findings and strategic recommendations to stakeholdersImplement tracking and measurement frameworksCross-Functional CollaborationWork with creative, media planning, and account teamsCoordinate with analytics and data teams for insightsParticipate in new business pitches and proposalsShare performance insights to inform broader agency strategiesREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS6+ years of experience in performance marketing, digital advertising, or related roles2+ years of experience managing or leading a team in a media agency or marketing environmentDemonstrated expertise across at least two digital channels (Search, Social, Programmatic)Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data interpretation and reportingDeep knowledge of campaign strategy, setup and hands-on optimization experience with leading digital marketing platforms (including Google Ads/SA360/DV360, Amazon, Meta, TikTok)Familiarity with ad operations and relevant platforms (CM360)Experience managing $500K+ budgets with measurable ROIExcellent communication and presentation skills with ability to influence stakeholdersStrong project management and organizational skillsProficiency with analytics tools (GA4, Adobe Analytics, or similar)DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCEStrategic & AnalyticalAdvanced data analysis and insight extraction capabilitiesAbility to develop integrated multi-channel strategiesFinancial acumen and budget optimization expertiseUnderstanding of marketing attribution models and measurement frameworksKnowledge of industry verticals (e-commerce, B2B, financial services, healthcare, etc.)Knowledge of how performance marketing integrates with broader initiativesTechnical & ToolsProficiency with dashboard and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)Advanced Excel/data management skillsFamiliarity with marketing automation and CRM systemsExperience with APIs and data integration for reportingLeadership & CommunicationProven ability to mentor and develop high-performing teamsConsultative approach to client partnershipsExecutive presentation and storytelling capabilitiesExperience with new business development and pitch preparationTrack record of building long-term client relationshipsPersonal AttributesResults-oriented with strong attention to detailProactive mindset with ability to anticipate opportunities and challengesAdaptability and comfort operating in fast-paced environmentIntellectual curiosity and commitment to continuous learningStrong work ethic and collaborative team approachThis is an active vacancy. We are currently hiring for this role and reviewing applications on an ongoing basis.Expected Salary: $80,000 - $85,000Omnicom Media is providing the compensation range that the company is willing to pay for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
