As a Director of Software Engineering, you will lead teams that design, develop, deploy, and operate highly available, large-scale distributed services for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Networking. You will apply your engineering leadership experience and knowledge of software architecture to deliver critical infrastructure that powers OCI Networking’s control and management systems.ResponsibilitiesLead and develop software engineering teams through engineering managers and technical leads.Drive execution of technical and organizational priorities, ensuring delivery of reliable, scalable, and operable services.Partner with teams across OCI Networking to design and deliver large-scale cloud infrastructure.Establish strong engineering practices and operational excellence for production distributed systems.Deliver complex projects on time with high quality while effectively managing dependencies, risks, and priorities.Develop engineering leaders and create an environment that supports technical excellence, collaboration, and growth.You should value simplicity and scale, thrive in a collaborative environment, and enjoy solving challenging distributed systems and cloud networking problems.Basic Qualifications8+ years of experience leading engineering teams building and operating highly available, production-grade distributed systems or cloud infrastructure.Experience managing engineering managers and/or senior technical leaders.Strong understanding of distributed systems and software architecture.Familiarity with networking fundamentals and configuration management is highly desirable.Experience with modern software development and deployment practices, including CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and large-scale deployment workflows.Demonstrated ability to deliver complex engineering initiatives and collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries.BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
