ROLE SUMMARYThe Taiwan Corporate Affairs & MISP Communication Lead is accountable for shaping and protecting Pfizer's external reputation and serves as the single accountable external voice for Pfizer Taiwan, while providing strategic communications leadership across the MISP cluster.The role leads Taiwan's overall external communications strategy across the full product portfolio (including PCV, RSV, Paxlovid, and other priority therapeutic areas) and oversees Taiwan Policy through direct management of the Policy Lead. It also directs MISP external communications—primarily vaccine campaigns and corporate reputation initiatives—through a dedicated MISP contractor, provides ad-hoc support to regional Corporate Affairs activities, and serves as the administrative review and approval point for Pakistan's external communications.The position reports to the Taiwan Country Manager, serves as a member of the Taiwan Leadership Team, and as a thought partner to the Country Manager in anticipating and assessing the impact of the external policy environment on business strategy, This role also requires to work closely with the Taiwan PLATE Lead and the MISP Cluster Lead (on MISP Communications).ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Lead Taiwan External Communications Strategy (All Products) & Oversee Taiwan Policy & Integrate Corporate Affairs Agenda (approx. 70%)Develop and execute an integrated Taiwan external communications strategy across the full product portfolio (PCV, RSV, Paxlovid, and future launches) to advance business priorities and enterprise reputation.Serve as strategic communications advisor to the Country Manager and Taiwan Leadership Team on reputation, stakeholder engagement, media, and policy-sensitive matters.Lead media relations, corporate reputation, disease awareness, executive visibility, and issues management activities.Establish communications governance and ensure compliance with Pfizer policies and approval processes.Provide direct leadership and coaching to the Policy Lead (direct report), ensuring alignment between policy priorities, advocacy initiatives, and external communications strategies.Integrate External Communications and Policy into one coordinated Corporate Affairs agenda under the Country Manager, creating a single accountable external voice for Pfizer Taiwan. citeturn1search1L132. Support MISP External Communications – Focus on Vaccine Campaigns (approx. 20%)Provide strategic external communications counsel to MISP leadership with primary focus on vaccine campaigns and corporate reputation.Develop communications frameworks, messaging platforms, and strategic campaign direction supporting MISP business priorities across the four cluster markets.Manage and coach the dedicated MISP Communications Contractor responsible for local execution.3. Team Leadership, Agency & Budget Management (10%)Lead and develop the Policy Lead (direct report) and MISP Communications Contractor.Manage external agencies and communications vendors to deliver measurable business and reputation outcomes.Steward Corporate Affairs budgets across Taiwan and MISP activities.4. Regional Ad-hoc Support & Pakistan Review/ApprovalProvide ad-hoc communications counsel and support to regional Corporate Affairs initiatives as required.Serve as the designated administrative review and approval point for Pakistan's external communications activities.Contribute to regional best-practice sharing and capability-building initiatives.5. Issues & Crisis ManagementAct as key member of Taiwan's rapid response team on corporate and product-related issues.Partner with Legal, Compliance, Medical, and Commercial teams on crisis communications planning and execution.QUALIFICATIONS BASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree required, preferably in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Public Policy, Political Science, Healthcare, Business, or a related field.Minimum 12+ years of progressive experience in Corporate Affairs, External Communications, Public Affairs, Government Relations, or Healthcare Communications in complex multinational organizations.Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-level external communications strategies, media relations, policy shaping and reputation management programs.Strong issues and crisis management skills and experience.Proven ability to counsel and interface successfully with senior executives and Country Manager-level stakeholders.Excellent written and oral communications skills in English and Mandarin.Ability to align and integrate communications and policies strategies with business strategy.Strong ability to work effectively across functions, geographies, and levels; proven collaborator in a matrix organization.Ability to lead direct reports, contractors, and external agencies.Sound judgment on reputation risk, governance, and compliance-related communications matters.Strong analytical, planning, attention to detail, and prioritizing skills.Proactive, self-starter, and able to work independently.Able to work to tight deadlines, manage multiple projects at once, and maintain professionalism under pressure.Based in Taiwan.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech, or vaccines sector strongly preferred.Policy, government affairs, or advocacy experience preferred.Prior experience supporting or leading multi-market communications within Asia or emerging markets.Experience managing crisis communications for high-profile issues or business-critical events.Experience integrating policy and communications functions.Scientific knowledge or background a plus.
