Build our future together:Our Ultra-Pure Water (Clean Utilities) Technicians support the manufacturing process through involvement with start-up, operation, monitoring, maintaining, and shutdown of clean utility systems and equipment within Clean Utility mechanical rooms. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, science-driven organization making a meaningful difference to patients worldwide.When & where:Location: Rensselaer, New York, United StatesWorking shift: Wednesday-Saturday 2:00pm-12:30amTraining shift: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm for up to 6 monthsWhat you'll do:Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on related clean utilities and systems that support manufacturingMaintain water rooms and related equipment such as pumps, motors, Water for Injection (WFI) stills, Clean Steam Generators, and related pipingPerform activities such as troubleshooting, hands-on repairs on all related clean utility equipment and systems, and WFI point-of-use flushingMaintain documents and records on all validated equipment and systemsCollaborate with other departments and contractors on scheduling repairs and maintenance of clean utility systemsPerform monitoring and control of systems using computer-driven Business Automation System (BAS) and PLC controlsCommunicate and coordinate with each department and within Facilities Management when planned and unplanned work events occurThis role requires:AAS degree, preferably in an Engineering or Construction Technologies related field and the following minimum years of relevant experience for each levelClean Utilities Technician II: 2+ years of related experience, or HSD/GED with 5+ years of related experienceClean Utilities Technician III: 5+ years of related experience, or HSD/GED with 8+ years of related experienceAbility to read and/or understand piping, electrical, and instrumentation drawingsBasic troubleshooting skills as they relate to the water room and mechanical proficiencyUnderstanding additional mechanical equipment and systems such as pharmaceutical compressed air, domestic water lines, plant steam, and high/low pressure condensate return systemsParticipating in rotational on-call schedulePrior experience in the maintenance and operation of a large-scale utilities plant is preferredLevel will be determined based on qualifications relevant to the roleThe environment and physical rhythms of the role:Gowning: Full cleanroom attire (examples may include: including laundered undergarments, gown, facemask, hairnet, safety glasses, safety shoes and booties, latex gloves and the use of sanitizing agents during gowning process including IPA)Ability to remove jewelry, makeup and nail adornments when wearing cleanroom attireAbility to perform physical requirements for entirety of shift (up to 10 hours) in a clean room environmentSome physical requirements can include but are not limited to: bending, climbing, crawling, kneeling, reaching, reaching overhead, sitting, squatting, walking, standing, driving, hand manipulation and ability to lift/push/pull up to 50lbsDoes this sound like you?
