Job DescriptionTitle: Associate Supplier Quality Engineer Pioneer the next generation of innovation. Position Summary: The Associate Supplier Quality Engineer position is responsible for the quality of components purchased from the supply chain, supplier development, and inspections. This role involves developing and auditing suppliers, managing incoming inspections, and driving corrective actions for any quality issues. This position supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier performance and product reliability.Key Accountabilities: Oversee the quality of procurement and supply of materials, and products related to diesel engine manufacturing and developmentWork proactively with suppliers to define specific quality requirements and standards, including development of inspection, verification, qualification, and statistical process control methodsProvide technical guidance to suppliers toward achieving part certification compliance with engineering drawings and specificationDevelop and prioritize an auditing schedule to ensure that designated suppliers are audited on a regular basis to ensure ISO-9001, process control capabilities and quality standards are metConduct supplier audits to determine compliance with safety, emission, and control characteristicsTrack and analyze failure trends, identify issues, drive root cause analysis, recommend corrective actions and communicate high priority issues to management.Coordinate qualification testing for operation and performance of equipment, engine components and systems, with little guidance.Work closely with purchasing team in new source development and work proactively in a commodity team environmentWrite and review technical quality documents, plans and proceduresMaintain Quality Assurance Programs and procedures, assure compliance with regulatory requirementsDevelop and mentor co-workers with less experience to improve staff competenceKeep abreast of specifications, changing regulations and industry standardsWrite and distribute quality data and reportsBasic Requirements: Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the production of internal combustion enginesKnowledge of quality control, raw materials, manufacturing processes, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of enginesFamiliar with plant operations and equipmentAbility to trouble shoot and resolve assembly and quality independentlyExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong knowledge of geometric tolerating and related gaugesKnowledge of MTU products and/or internal combustion enginesWorking knowledge of gauge and test equipment (torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers)Excellent knowledge of statistical process controlExperience in resolving zero-hour engine defects with customersCQE/CQA or similar certification6 sigma experience or certificationRolls-Royce is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Required Qualifications
