You will lead a team of controls engineers of varying experience in support of all US Naval engineering objectives in accordance with program and divisional strategy. This is a technical leadership role with significant line-management responsibility, that is expected to work effectively in a challenging, self-directed, and agile environment and ensures robust, timely program delivery. What you will be doing:Assist the Chief Engineer and US Naval Engineering Leadership team in ensuring divisional compliance with the group Product Safety and Health, Safety and Environment policies and processes.Be a key technical interface in the division between ET&S, Program Management and other supporting functions as required, working with the US Naval Engineering Leadership team to translate customer technical requirements into the appropriate ET&S technical work packages that support the program. Provide leadership and management of a cross-functional team that is accountable for the successful delivery of technical/program requirements, definition of risk, project budget and schedule for defined package of work, including establishing a project baseline for the work scope and manage change to the baseline.Work with the Chief Engineer and US Naval Engineering Leadership team to proactively identify the required engineering skills development pipeline and divisional ET&S capacity required, influencing group ET&S allocation priority, and sustaining Divisional ET&S engineering capability and product knowledge (Suitably Qualified and Experienced People) - support divisional and group ET&S Strategic Workforce Planning activities as required.Ensure the approved load in your team is robustly integrated into the overarching Program resource balance plan and perform the required engineering program management to ensure right-first-time, on-time delivery to the customer in accordance with the approved budget.Manage the technical work scope for development and field activities including delivery of a robust verification, certification, and qualification strategy, as well as addressing controls related issues in the US Naval customer base.Effectively line-manage your team in accordance with all divisional and group policies e.g., performance management, training, career development, work booking etc.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years of experience; OrMaster’s degree in Engineering and 3+ years of experience, OrJD/PhD in EngineeringUp to date, relevant engineering expertise in the relevant functional area/disciplineIn order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen or Permanent ResidentPreferred Qualifications:Demonstrated experience of successfully delivering engineering technical projects/tasks to time, cost and quality, and leadership of teams to do the sameProject/Function Management Engineering ExperienceExperience of collaboration with diverse teamsExperience in USG development programs, stakeholder and change managementExceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment; willingness to accept responsibility and take initiative; and drive to finish assigned tasks on scheduleAn excellent command of the English language for both written and oral communicationsOur vision is to ensure that the quality and dynamism that shaped our history continues into our future.
