Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.Department Overview:The Air Defense Ground Equipment Mechanical Design Department is responsible for the mechanical design, development, and integration of critical defense platform systems.This includes radar and communications shelters, electronic subsystems, launchers, hardware integration, and system interconnects.Role is an On-Site role in Tewksbury, MA/Andover, MAWhat You Will Do Lead execution of major programs and mid- to large-scale cross-functional engineering teams across all development phasesServe as SME and technical liaison to programs/IPTs, ensuring stakeholder alignmentOversee technical performance of design teams and provide lifecycle engineering guidanceLead proposal efforts, EAC activities, and manage schedule, cost, and technical commitmentsDrive TDP development, peer reviews, and hardware engineering process improvementsPerform complex mechanical design, development, and documentation for defense systemsSupport product integration with domestic/international factories and suppliersCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams, Chief Engineers, and suppliers to deliver robust, production-ready solutionsQualifications You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ experience.Mechanical equipment design and development experience, preferably in defense/military environmentsProven engineering team leadership with accountability for cost, schedule, and technical performance; project budgeting and scheduling experiencePrior Experience collaborating within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and cross-functional organizations, including customer engagementExperience with hands-on mechanical design, from trade studies and concept development through production transition and supplier supportExperience conducting RCCA, driving cost reduction initiatives, and producing technical documentation/white papersBroad expertise in mechanical design, materials, manufacturing processes, CAD, and PDM systemsThe ability to travel domestically and internationallyQualifications We Prefer Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related hardware systems fieldElectronic packaging design experience (subsystems, modules, CCAs, PWBs, interconnects for RF/digital/power)Design, fabrication, and integration of electronic assemblies, shelters, racks, and PDUsKnowledge of military/commercial specifications and ASME Y14.5 GD&TExperience with ECAD processes, interconnects, cables/harnesses, and material selection/finishesProficiency in Creo CAD, Windchill PDM (or similar), and configuration/change managementSkilled in Microsoft Office with strong communication and technical writing abilitiesSelf-driven team player able to manage multiple priorities and travel as neededWhat We OfferOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
