Currently, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Freight and Customs Specialist. This role is responsible for managing freight and customs broker services across the organisation, supporting proactive planning of movements, resolving issues, and ensure compliance with regulatory and policy requirements.This is a key role in our Operations team requiring a person who is proactive with a can-do attitude. You are always looking to find solutions to the daily challenges. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of the role where your strong communication and organisational skills will shine in this role.If you have a high work ethic, positive attitude, with exceptional attention to detail, we want to hear from you.Key ResponsibilitiesManage all freight and distribution services, including shipping and customs brokerage services to ensure regulatory and legislative requirements are met.Ensure required transport and shipping documents are available and completed.Ensure correct implementation of transport modes and efficient routing to meet business, regulatory, and policy requirements.Manage freight & customs broker agreements and relationships to ensure effective performance to meet business objectives, including periodic performance reviews and reporting; developing and reporting against key metrics; effective record management; issue resolution; and regulatory compliance reporting and audit.Analyse capacity and forecast demand for Customs & freight (both domestic and international) services.Manage freight and customs processes and tools, including standardised documentation.Provided and work with freight forwarders and customs brokers to provide, training, guidance, lessons learned, performance management and process improvements.Skills Experience and QualificationsEquivalent experience to, or, a Certificate IV in Supply Chain / Logistics / Transportation or Distribution (.Diploma of Customs Brokering (TLI50822) or willingness to complete within 2 years.Minimum of 3-4 years prior relevant freight and customs experience.Ability to work independently under limited supervision.Advanced understanding and ability to determine customs parameters (HS, Tariff, AHECC, commercial invoice content, etc.) and associated freight and customs documentation.Advanced knowledge of INCOTERMS and optimum arrangements for shipping modes.Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security clearance as needed.
