The candidate is expected to assist the seniors in the Combustion module to develop a well defined process to identify the appropriate cooling method for the combustors. The work involves, apart from researching the open and in-house literature, making calculations using in-house tools, collate the data and look for correlations. Good heat transfer and fluid mechanics knowledge is desirable. At the end of the project, the Intern will have a good insight into the challenges faces in the design of a combustor and potential ways to overcome.
