The Material Control Lab Technician will perform evaluations of major rotating hardware for various manufacturing special processes. The Material Control Lab Technician will be responsible for sample preparation, evaluation, disposition, and quality documentation of materials and processes. Interpretation of blueprints, specifications, procedures, and laboratory manuals to assess what testing is required and conformance to requirements is a critical aspect of this position.Perform metallographic evaluation and documentation of various special manufacturing processes, primarily heat treating and plasma spray coatings.Regular interaction with Production Operations personnel as well as other Engineering disciplines to help respond to metallurgical issues and develop effective root cause and corrective action for manufacturing-related issues.Effective team player and contributor utilizing the CORE tools and continuous improvement by maintaining EH&S and operating requirements in order to ensure a safe and productive working environment.Provide clear, concise, and accurate lab reports. Maintain records and retain prepared samples according to procedure. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
