Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.Collins Aerospace’s Global Engineering & Technology Center in Puerto Rico (GETC-PR) is seeking a technically experienced Structures Engineer to join our team in support of the Landing Systems Engineering organization and advanced technology methods development. This role requires a strong, passionate problem-solver with an action-oriented, collaborative mindset who strives to exceed expectations. The successful candidate will thrive in a cross-disciplinary team environment, tackling challenges and implementing design or process changes in a hands-on work setting.This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.What YOU will do:Lead and perform structural analysis of Landing Systems components and assemblies while collaborating as part of an integrated team.Independently develop structural analysis solutions when historical solutions are not available or applicable. Analysis may include both classical methods and/or detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA).Conduct risk assessments to ensure the structural integrity of Landing Systems hardware, including static and fatigue failure modes (FMs).Own and manage projects with minimal oversight while meeting deadlines, budgets, and maintaining high-quality standards.Provide structural analysis support for New Product Introduction (NPIs), material non-conformances (MRBs), Part Deviation Addendums (PDAs), and field investigations.Deliver analysis results and recommendations through detailed documentation, formal reports, and presentations for management and customers.Collaborate with cross-functional teams and serve as the structures focal point in integrated product teams to provide design recommendations and solutions that meet technical, weight, and cost targets.Assist in the creation of test plans and support validation and verification testing of components for structural, thermal, and dynamic performance and behavior. Utilize test data to calibrate and improve analytical methods.Develop and automate status reports through tools such as MATLAB, Python, or similar programming languages.Drive the continuous improvement of analytical methods and processes to enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness.Provide technical coaching and mentoring to entry-level structures engineers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.What YOU will learn:You will learn about our growing engineering team in Puerto Rico; What we do?
