Position SummaryAbout Samsung Semiconductor India Research (SSIR)Samsung Semiconductor India Research; Bangalore (SSIR) is largest overseas research & development centers for Samsung Semiconductor. SSIR is organized into verticals aligned with the business divisions of Samsung Semiconductor, which includes System LSI, Memory.Memory business is one of the flagship and most profitable businesses within Samsung Semiconductor. Memory business boasts of being the world first in many technology & product areas. The Memory division at SSIR (MST) is a key partner for Samsung Korea R&D and has critical responsibilities for many products being developed within Samsung Memory business. The MST Software team works on firmware development for Flash based products (Solid State Drives, UFS, eMMC, MicroSD) and Client Software to enable Samsung products in market. In addition, this team is also responsible for research on new storage technologies and bringing new concepts to memory products. Teams in India, Korea and US work together to achieve overall Memory business goals. We explore new technologies in a broad spectrum of areas ranging from emerging Non-Volatile Memory (Storage Class Memories), Low-Latency System designs, Interface protocols and standards, Device Drivers & OS components, Open Ecosystem & Platforms.Role and ResponsibilitiesRoles and ResponsibilitiesAs a Linux System Software developer/Architect in our DRAM System Solutions team – bring an expertise of computer architecture and operating system concepts designed for the x86-64 and other server architectures.· This opportunity gets you involved in all phases of System Software DevelopmentThe Person:· A Linux kernel developer with strong analysis and problem-solving skills who will deliver responsive and efficient solutions that bring next gen Samsung devices to market with virtualization solutions.· Engage in proven technical collaboration to guide the process of Samsung’s hardware enablement for new generation Memory & CPUs.· Utilize polished written and verbal communication skills to work with on-site and offshore teams, analyze system requirements, coordinate feature design, and development with other teams.· Join the DRAM System Solutions part in supporting, optimizing, and enhancing the customer experience while using Samsung DRAM/CXL devices.Experience – {8 – 18 } years of experience Linux Kernel Development Skills RequiredIdentify bottlenecks and enable features to optimize customer experience while making use of High Performance Samsung DRAM/CXL devices .Drive features and functionality to our partner technical teams. Support the solutions offered by our partner companies.Review code, build unit tests and write detailed documentation. Collaborate! Preferred Experience (8 years to 18 years):Expert understanding and experience with the Linux kernel (especially sched, mm, hmem, dax and mca).Expert understanding of Linux kernel memory management and NUMA subsystemExpert understanding of how Linux kernel interacts with the ACPI/UEFI tables.Expert understanding of debugging PCIe devices using Linux kernel Advanced programming skills in C for operating system kernel & systems development.
