Come innovate with us!Position SummaryThe Project Manager Lead (Tool Hookup Mechanical) acts as the primary engineering and construction leader for process mechanical and exhaust hookup operations within a semiconductor foundry. This role bridges the gap between factory operations, tool vendors (OEMs), and trade contractors to ensure that highly complex manufacturing equipment is safely, efficiently, and precisely connected to the facility’s utility infrastructure. The position carries ultimate accountability for the mechanical scope's safety, schedule, quality, and budget from tool arrival to final factory handover.Role and ResponsibilitiesHere’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:Serve as the central point of contact and primary liaison for the mechanical hookup team in high-level foundry executive, client, and tool vendor alignment meetings.Define and manage the strict boundaries between base-build utility infrastructure and tool-specific point-of-connection (POC) hookups to prevent scope gaps or overlap.Own and resolve critical engineering, scheduling, resource, and cross-functional conflicts between competing trades and tool owners.Monitor financial performance, manage cash flow forecasting, review change orders, and track earned value management (EVM) for the mechanical scope.Partner with the master scheduling team to align mechanical installation sequences with aggressive Tool In-Fab (TIF) and Tool Install Ready (TIR) milestones.Skills and QualificationsHere's what you'll need:Education, Training, Credentials, and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a strictly related engineering discipline.8+ years of dedicated project management experience specifically focused on high-purity mechanical and process piping construction.Minimum 5 years of direct experience working inside an operational, large-scale semiconductor cleanroom environment.Project Management Professional (PMP) credential or an active professional engineering (PE) license is highly desirable.Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, and CompetenciesAdvanced technical knowledge of specialized high-purity piping materials, including PVDF, PFA, and Electropolished Stainless Steel (316L EP).Strong working knowledge of international and semiconductor safety standards, including FM Global, NFPA codes, and SEMI guidelines (specifically SEMI S2 and S8).Absolute proficiency in cleanroom protocol management (Class 10 to Class 1000) and the enforcement of contamination control during active construction.Practical capability in navigating and digital review model software (e.g., Autodesk Navisworks, Revit) and project controls platforms (e.g., Primavera P6, Procore).The current base salary range for this role is between $90,000 - $151,500. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.Total RewardsAt Samsung Austin Semiconductor, base pay is just one part of our total compensation package.
