Who we are looking forState Street Markets is seeking a high-potential AVP to join the Commercial and Client Strategy team. This role is designed for an ambitious, commercially-minded professional who wants to accelerate their development at the intersection of strategy, sales, and client relationship management. Working directly with the Head of Markets Commercial and Client Strategy, the AVP will help shape and execute initiatives that strengthen client engagement, deepen strategic relationships, and support franchise growth across the Markets product suite. The role offers unique exposure to senior business leaders, top-tier clients, and cross-enterprise initiatives while providing a path to broader responsibilities within Commercial and Client Strategy.This position is ideal for an individual who combines strong analytical capabilities with a genuine interest in understanding clients, building relationships, and helping turn strategic priorities into commercial outcomes.Why this role is important to usThe Markets' Commercial and Client Strategy team serves as the connective tissue between business strategy, client priorities, and revenue growth. We work across product, sales, relationship management, and business leadership teams to identify opportunities, strengthen client engagement, and drive commercial outcomes. As Markets continues to evolve its client-centric growth strategy, we are building a team that combines strategic thinking with commercial execution. The AVP, Client Engagement will play a critical role in helping the organization become more insight-driven, coordinated, and effective in how we engage our most important clients and prospects.Beyond the immediate responsibilities, this role is intended to be a development opportunity for future leadership talent within Commercial and Client Strategy.What you will be responsible forAs Commercial and Client Strategy, Assistant Vice President you will:Partner closely with the Head of Markets Commercial and Client Strategy to support execution of strategic client and commercial priorities across the Markets franchise.Help coordinate and manage engagement plans for key clients, strategic prospects, and priority commercial opportunities.Support the development of client strategies that align Markets capabilities with client needs and business objectives.Conduct research and analysis on client relationships, industry trends, competitive developments, and commercial opportunities.Develop briefing materials, client profiles, meeting preparation documents, and executive-level presentations.Help identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and increase adoption of Markets products and solutions.Track strategic initiatives and ensure follow-through across multiple stakeholders and business partners.Partner with Client Engagement, Client Intelligence, Sales, Product, and Relationship Management teams to translate insights into actionable client plans.Support senior client meetings, industry events, and strategic engagement activities.Build a deep understanding of the Markets product suite, including financing, liquidity, research, and trading solutions.Contribute to the development of scalable client engagement processes, best practices, and management reporting.Serve as a trusted thought partner to the CCS leadership team while gradually assuming ownership of increasingly complex initiatives and client-facing responsibilities.What we valueThe ideal candidate will demonstrate:Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn the business.Strong commercial instincts and interest in client-facing roles.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Ability to build relationships across different levels of the organization.Strong project management and organizational capabilities.Analytical rigor combined with practical business judgment.A proactive, self-starter mindset.Comfort operating in a fast-paced and evolving environment.Highest standards of professionalism, discretion, and integrity.Education & Preferred ExperienceBachelor's degree required.4-6 years of experience in financial services, capital markets, business management, sales, client relationship management, strategy or a related field.Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations and presentations, proficiency with PowerPoint expected.Familiarity with institutional investing, capital markets, or client-facing financial services environments is preferred.What success looks likeIn your first 12-24 months, you will:Become a trusted extension of the Head of Commercial and Client Strategy.Develop meaningful relationships across Markets leadership, Sales, Product, and client-facing teams.Demonstrate ownership of strategic initiatives and client engagement programs.Build expertise in Markets products, clients, and commercial priorities.Begin assuming responsibility for portions of the client engagement agenda independently.Position yourself for future growth opportunities within Commercial and Client Strategy.About State StreetWhat we do.
