Our services are based on independent governance, transparency, and rigorous risk management for hedge fund investments. We bring decades of experience in building efficient financial operations infrastructure and a deep understanding of how to mitigate operational risk for institutions investing in hedge funds.We are seeking a highly motivated NAV Oversight Analyst to join our Managed Account Analytics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for independently validating Net Asset Values (NAVs) calculated by third-party fund administrators, performing analytical reviews, investigating valuation discrepancies, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of fund accounting data.The role requires strong knowledge of fund accounting, investment products, portfolio valuation, performance analysis, reconciliations, and risk controls. Candidates should possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment supporting global institutional clients.Key ResponsibilitiesNAV Oversight & ValidationPerform independent oversight and validation of daily, weekly, and monthly NAV calculations produced by fund administrators.Review fund assets, liabilities, capital activity, and NAV movements to identify unusual fluctuations.Validate NAV per share calculations and investigate unexplained variances.Review fund-level and share class level reconciliations to ensure valuation accuracy.Performance & Analytical ReviewsConduct performance decomposition and attribution reviews.Investigate performance differences between Trading Advisor, Administrator, and internal calculations.Perform month-over-month and day-over-day NAV movement analysis.Review portfolio and fund-level P&L reconciliations.Pricing & Valuation OversightReview security pricing sources and investigate price variances.Perform stale price, zero price, and pricing policy checks.Validate security valuations across multiple sources.Escalate material valuation discrepancies to stakeholders.Reconciliations & ControlsExecute cash, position, liability, capital activity, and performance reconciliations.Review control reports and exception dashboards.Monitor key NAV controls and ensure completion within agreed timelines.Support audit, compliance, and risk control requirements.Exception ManagementInvestigate breaks, exceptions, and reconciliation differences.Coordinate with Fund Administrators, Investment Managers, Custodians, and Internal Teams to resolve issues.Maintain issue logs and track remediation through closure.Escalate high-risk issues impacting NAV accuracy or client reporting.Client Reporting & GovernanceParticipate in NAV sign-off processes.Support client reporting requirements and ad-hoc analysis requests.Prepare commentary on significant NAV movements and portfolio events.Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives.Required QualificationsEducationBachelor's or master's degree in finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, or related discipline.Experience3-7 years of experience in NAV Oversight, Fund Accounting, Hedge Fund Operations, Managed Accounts, or Investment Analytics.Technical KnowledgeCandidates should have knowledge of:NAV calculation methodologies.Fund accounting principles.Hedge Funds, Mutual Funds, UCITS, and Alternative Investment Funds.Equities, Fixed Income, Futures, Options, Swaps, CFDs, FX Forwards, and OTC Derivatives.Portfolio valuation methodologies.Performance measurement and attribution.Cash and position reconciliations.Pricing and valuation controls.Capital activity accounting.Financial statements and trial balances.Desired SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent attention to detail.Ability to identify and investigate exceptions independently.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query).Experience with fund accounting systems and data platforms.Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.Understanding of operational risk and control frameworks.About State StreetAcross the globe, institutional investors rely on us to help them manage risk, respond to challenges, and drive performance and profitability.
