Who we are looking forThe Risk Strategy & Operational Resilience Vice President leads the implementation and ongoing execution of State Street’s Business Continuity and Operational Resiliency program across assigned business areas and locations. The role works closely with Business Continuity Directors (BCDs), business stakeholders, and the Enterprise Resiliency Office to ensure continuity readiness, effective testing, and compliance with global standards and regulatory expectations.This role combines strategic leadership with operational oversight, ensuring that risk frameworks, reporting, and processes are aligned to enterprise objectives, while also embedding robust Operational Resilience practices across Global Technology Services (GTS).Why this role is important to usEffective risk strategy and operational resilience are critical to maintaining client trust, meeting regulatory expectations, and ensuring continuity of critical services.This role plays a key part in shaping how risk is managed across the organization—driving consistency, improving transparency through data and insights, and ensuring the organization can anticipate, withstand, and recover from disruption.What you will be responsible forOperational Resilience & Crisis ManagementProvide strategic leadership of Operational Resilience and Business Continuity across assigned areasOversee the development and ongoing maintenance of BIAs, BCPs, and recovery strategiesLead scenario testing and exercising to validate resilience capabilitiesSupport crisis and incident management, including coordination, communication, and post-event reviewEnsure risks to service continuity are identified, escalated, and remediated effectivelyGovernance, Risk Management & Regulatory AlignmentOwn and enhance governance frameworks to ensure consistent risk management practicesEnsure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies across GTSLead engagement with internal audit and regulators, shaping responses and outcomesDrive accountability and transparency in risk ownership and escalationOperational Excellence & TransformationLead initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness of risk and control processesOversee risk monitoring activities and ensure consistent execution across teamsChampion continuous improvement and innovation across risk and resilience processesDrive transformation initiatives, embedding sustainable and scalable solutionsStakeholder Engagement & Influential LeadershipAct as a senior liaison across Technology, Business, and Risk functionsBuild strong relationships with executive stakeholders, regulators, and audit partnersProvide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to team membersInfluence outcomes through effective communication, negotiation, and facilitationWhat we valueThese skills will help you succeed in this role:Ability to interact with and communicate professionally with management in multiple regions.Good verbal and written communication skills, ability to express ideas and understand workflows.Time management skills, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.Experience with a GTS tool such as Archer a plus.Experience in creating process flows, identifying controls, creating management information in power point decks.Must have the ability to operate in a deadline-oriented environment with simultaneous deliverables.Must be detail oriented.Experience working in the financial industry preferred but not required.Education & Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree required; MBA or professional certification preferred.10+ years of experience in risk management, operational controls, or leadership roles.Demonstrated expertise in risk assessment methodologies and metrics reporting.Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders.Salary Range: $120,000 - $202,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified.
