Who we are looking forCharles River Development, a State Street Company, is offering the opportunity for a talented senior database administrator to join its Database Operations team. The database team is responsible for the design, administration, and daily operation of critical systems that support our clients’ Production, Disaster Recovery, and Test environments in hybrid on-premise and cloud database environment, with a heavy emphasis on SQL Server and Azure SQL Database.Responsibilities include day-to-day database administration work, design and implementation of maintenance and optimization tasks and researching and assisting teams to make their application/database cloud ready. This position is an excellent opportunity to work in a group growing rapidly using cutting edge technical solutions. This position will be based in the India, Hyderabad office.What you will be responsible forAs a Senior Database Administrator you will:Ensure the availability and optimization of the MSSQL, Azure SQL databases both on-premises and in the cloud. Make sure to follow technical standards and operational procedures to meet database performance, availability, scalability, and security requirements in both hosted and cloud environments.Assist in resolving priority incidents to quickly eliminate impacts, participate in root-cause analysis, and support subsequent corrective and preventative actions.Work closely with Database Team Lead, collaborate with Operations and other teams to optimize database performance and reliability.Other tasks include automating repetitive tasks, early detection and automated mitigation of potential issues using ServiceNow, PowerShell, TSQL, Kusto etc.Senior Database Administrator are encouraged and supported to acquire relevant Azure certifications (e.g. DP-300, AZ-900 Exam).Establish, maintain, and adhere to CRD technical standards, policies, and procedures.Education & Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or a related technical field)9+ years of experience working with large MS SQL Server databases in a 24 x 7 x 365 production environment5+ years of MS SQL Server production database administration experience supporting large environments.2+ years of expert-level performance tuning experience, using all available tools and methods to investigate and make recommendations to improve slow performing queries and procedures at the database and server level.1+ year of hands-on experience operating MS SQL servers and related technologies in Azure.Industry certifications for Azure, MS SQL Server, or related technologies strongly preferred.
