Summary:This Java Developer position at State Street focuses on maintaining and enhancing a global FX trading system. The role requires expertise in Java development, Oracle Database management, and Bash scripting while working in an Agile environment with a distributed global team. The ideal candidate will contribute to mission-critical financial infrastructure, handling high-volume foreign exchange transactions and collaborating across time zones to deliver robust, scalable solutions. Responsibilities:Collaborate with a global team of developers across multiple time zones to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level Java applicationsWork within an Agile development environment, participating in sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectivesDevelop and optimize backend services using Java and related technologiesWrite and maintain Bash scripts for deployment and system maintenance tasksParticipate in code reviews and contribute to improving development best practicesTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environmentsEnsure application performance, security, and scalabilityDemonstrate more independence of design and development Required Skills & Qualifications:At least 3 years of experience with full lifecycle of project development for Java applications.B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical course of study required.
