Role Summary/Purpose:The Assistant Vice President, iOS Software Development Engineer III craves working in a hands-on mobile environment and leads by example to make sure projects are delivered on time and to specification. To be successful in this role, you will need deep expertise in iOS development, as well as a strong understanding of the entire technology stack top to bottom. This dynamic and collaborative role will be part of the Synchrony’s Mobile App Engineering team. This AVP will lead the iOS development and release process of the Mobile software for Synchrony and its clients by developing thoughtful solutions to anticipate bugs, maintain operational excellence, deliver a quality product efficiently and provide production support. Do you consider user experience in your decision making and think like a user?Have tech chops: Boasting a mobile SDK development background is a must.Essential Responsibilities:Lead a development team through all phases of the Agile development life cycle Identify and provide technical details for features identified by business product ownersLead a team of iOS software developers and provide expert review of code from multiple build teamsImplement new technologies and assist developers as they migrate to new technologiesProvide strong technical leadership for the team developing iOS applications using SwiftUI/Swift/UIKitInfluence and collaborate with software developers, UX designers, product managers, application architects, and customer application experts to create amazing appsMentor and influence iOS developers: in this role, you will have the opportunity to influence code architecture and feature developmentEnsure compliance with architecture, security and technology standards set by Synchrony FinancialAssist in crafting and maintaining the future state technology architectural strategy and roadmapParticipate in Agile scrums consisting of cross-functional teamsLead Agile sprints as technical expert, including sprint planning, daily standups, backlog grooming sessions, and sprint reviewsEnsure application code quality through development, test, and QAParticipate in addressing root cause analyses, incident reports and provide direction in problem resolutionAbility to analyze production defects, troubleshoot systems, identify root cause, and implement fixesProvide use cases for AI to enhance our developer workflowsPassionate about the latest technologies, open-source projects and languages;Provide 24x7 on-call support periodically throughout the yearIdentify ways to increase efficiency and improve system performanceWork with third party vendors to develop software and/or integrate their software into the company's productsPerform other duties and/or special projects as assignedQualifications/Requirements:Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience with software engineering OR, in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED 6 years of experience with software engineering. Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.Our Way of Working:We’re proud to offer you flexibility.
