Job Description

The RoleReporting to the EHS manager, the EHS Specialist is responsible for influencing operations excellence, managing regulatory compliance, and driving overall risk reduction, aimed at driving EHS excellence throughout the Automotive Sales Service Delivery operation in Japan and SEA region. This position will ensure world class process standards are met and sustained across Automotive SSD in the market. The position will interface with regional automotive SSD operations leadership, front-line operations staff as well as other related teams within Tesla and will drive and support continuous improvement throughout Automotive SSD. Responsibilities• Develop and nurture a partnership with and is a key advisor to leadership, site representatives, and front-line employees within Automotive SSD operations• Directly or indirectly provides information and tools to allow Automotive SSD operations personnel to drive EHS excellence every day• Ensure key risks and compliance requirements pertaining to occupational safety and health compliance requirement, escalated and controlled in all phases of automotive product sales, delivery and service operations• Keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization• Collaborate with stakeholders on complex technical projects, and provide support and technical expertise on operations design and safe work procedures• Conduct workplace inspections, participate in EHS sponsored initiatives, drive continuous improvement using tools, and support emergency preparedness and response activities• Support life and high-potential incident investigations and create and complete key actions from investigation learnings• Conduct and/or reviews risk assessments, job hazard analyses and provides advice on improvements• Implement and manage contractor management program and related systems and processes• Identify, implement, and manage vendor-led services for environmental compliance, waste management, personal protective equipment, and training etc.• Facilitate the creation and implementation of emergency action plans for responding to emergencies• Provide training to employees on occupational safety, health and hygiene, hazard recognition and control, injury prevention and other relevant topics• Analyze data and report trends, recommend and support risk-reduction plans and corrective and preventive actions• Facilitate safety committee meetings and other employee engagement initiativesRequirements• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or similar. • 3+ years of experience in high tech industry or similar environment. Prior experience working with high risk industry, electric vehicle related service operations preferred• Certifications such as CSP(Certified Safety Professional) and Certified Industrial Hygienist(CIH) preferred• Practical, hands-on site or field EHS experience with the following:o Electrical / high voltage safetyo Supporting EHS operations across multiple siteso Workplace EHS inspectionso Establishing Safety and Health management systemo Risk assessments• Experience with employee training and education activities• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English languages is a must• Able to influence and communicate effectively with management, EHS leaders, regulators, project management staff and 3rd party suppliers• Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and self-directed• Well organized with meticulous attention to detail• Proficiency with standard business software, including word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, and email communication• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%• Fluency in both Japanese and English• Class 1 Industrial Health Manager (第1種衛生管理者) required

Required Qualifications
