Position DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced HR Partner to support us to build our team in Japan. The HR Partner drives our mission by working with leaders and employees across the business to ensure Tesla is a great place to work for everyone. This role is both hands-on and strategic and provides expertise in the areas of employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee engagement, learning and development, and ad hoc projects as necessary. ResponsibilitiesBe a leader and credible activist for your clients, your team and our mission; exert influence to create positive changeDeliver both strategic and tactical HR support and programs to employees and managers, including performance management, organizational design, learning and development, compensation programs and employee relationsPartner effectively with HR centers of excellence including Immigration, Compensation and Benefits, Tesla Talent, Employee Relations, and RecruitingProactively identify opportunities to enhance the employee experience and partner with management to develop and implement innovative and sustainable solutionsWork with leaders to develop effective organizational structures to drive organizational healthConsult and coach all levels of management to build and serve high performing, diverse and inclusive teamsBuild credibility and trust among employees; resolve employee concerns with compassion and follow-throughConsult and advise on talent reviews and the annual merit planning cycle Requirements3+ years of previous experience in HR Business Partner or other HR role including coaching, employee relations, recruiting, compensation, training & HR project management or program implementation.Fluent in Japanese and nice to have business level English.Resourceful and self-motivated with ability to work in changing environments.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess situations and make decisions based on data while drawing from previous experience.Demonstrated experience with coaching employees and management through complex and difficult issues.Demonstrated ability to effectively partner and collaborate with all levels of the organization and positively influence teams.Proven organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
