The remote, work from home part-time staff pharmacist provides telepharmacy services to multiple hospital clients across various states. This role enhances clinical team performance, supports quality patient care, and ensures safe and compliant medication practices. This part-time position includes evenings, overnight and on-call shifts. You are expected to work at least 1-2 shifts every 2 weeks. Multiple shifts available and will be discussed in interview, but consist of evenings, overnight, and weekends.Responsibilities:TelepharmacyPerform remote order entry, order verification, drug verification, and patient/staff counseling.Support multiple clients and operate within various pharmacy information systems (PIS).Clinical ExcellenceProvide proactive clinical pharmacy services and adhere to all client -specific and Cigna policies.Deliver drug information and therapeutic recommendations, including dosing adjustments, interactions, compatibilities, and infusion guidance.Maintain working knowledge of IV fluids, TPN, narcotic/cardiac drips, IV antibiotics, chemotherapy, and more.Understand considerations for special populations (pediatric, geriatric, pregnant/nursing, renal/hepatic impairment, HIV).Counsel patients, nurses, and medical staff on safe medication use.Investigate and resolve medication variances within 48 hours.Operational ExcellenceLearn and work in multiple hospital pharmacy systems.Obtain and maintain multiple state pharmacist licenses.Document orders, interventions, and recommendations in system by end of shift.Ensure compliance with all applicable pharmacy laws, regulations, and Internal policies.Technical ExcellencePerform basic troubleshooting during system or connectivity issues.Work effectively with VPNs, PIS platforms, automation systems, and common software (Microsoft Office, Snagit, etc.).Training & DevelopmentParticipate in ongoing training, including clinical updates, PIS enhancements, and policy changes.Maintain all required access credentials, licenses, and reciprocity.ProductivityAchieve and maintain company productivity metrics.QualificationsB.S. in Pharmacy required, PharmD preferred.Active and in good standing PA pharmacist license.Additional state licenses preferred (OH, MA, RI, DE, ME, NH, CT)At least 2+ years of inpatient hospital experience preferredStrong written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated customer service skillsKnowledge of formulary management and P&T proceduresFamiliarity with client/server applicationsProficiency in MS Office, Google Drive, internet, and emailOvernight inpatient hospital experience is strongly preferredHospital residency is preferred but not requiredBoard certification is preferred but not requiredIf you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of 54 - 91 USD / hourly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.At The Cigna Group, you’ll enjoy a comprehensive range of benefits, with a focus on supporting your whole health.
