This is a practical, hands-on workshop-based role that involves assembling precision analytical instrumentation and working with a variety of mechanical and electrical components. The role is ideal for candidates passionate about electro-mechanical engineering and eager to expand their knowledge and skills. As a key player in our manufacturing process, you will contribute to our commitment to continuous improvement by recognising opportunities and driving action.KEY Responsibilities:Electro-Mechanical AssemblyAssemble process analysers to customer specifications, including instruments designed for hazardous areas, such as ATEX-certified applications.Manufacture and install cable assemblies and electrical wiring looms.Install and bend pipework to engineering specifications.Assemble and fit externally produced components and accessories.Build mechanical and electro-mechanical sub-assemblies to engineering drawings and quality standards.Work on a range of very high-value, low-volume products.Quality and PrecisionCarry out all assembly work with excellent attention to detail, ensuring products are built to the highest quality standards.Continuous ImprovementShare observations and knowledge with team members to maintain quality and improve processes.Promote and implement continuous improvement initiatives.Operational ExcellenceAlign with Health and Safety and 5S / Lean principles in the manufacturing department.Maintain awareness of the Manufacturing assembly schedule.Work efficiently to meet business commitments.Team Collaboration and FlexibilityParticipate in cross-training opportunities to develop existing skills, learn new manufacturing processes, and provide support across different teams and activities as required.Demonstrate a flexible work ethic to cover various manufacturing duties as needed.At Thermo Fisher Scientific, we value innovation, teamwork, and personal growth.
