The position will partner with R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and EMS partners to improve manufacturability, accelerate production ramp-up, and strengthen supplier performance.Key ResponsibilitiesLead development, optimization, and standardization of electronics manufacturing processes across EMS and Contract Manufacturing partnersSupport technology transfers, new product introductions, and production ramp-up for PCB assemblies, cable assemblies, electrical subsystems, and electronic instrumentation platformsConduct supplier capability assessments covering SMT, through-hole assembly, soldering, conformal coating, cable/harness assembly, test capability, ESD controls, and process maturityPartner with R&D and Manufacturing Engineering to influence DFM, DFT, DFA, component selection, panelization, test strategy, and manufacturability decisionsDevelop electronics manufacturing standards, process documentation, work instructions, control plans, and best-practice playbooksSupport process validation, test validation, equipment qualification, pilot builds, and readiness reviews for electronics manufacturing processesLead root cause analysis and corrective action for electronics manufacturing defects, yield losses, test failures, supplier process issues, and transfer risksDrive improvements in yield, throughput, cycle time, first-pass quality, and supplier execution using Lean and data-driven methodologiesSupport BOE and BOP development for electronics manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, fixtures, and test infrastructurePartner with Quality teams to ensure compliance with applicable IPC standards, quality requirements, change control, and traceability expectationsCollaborate with suppliers and supply chain teams to improve material readiness, component risk management, and production continuityCapture lessons learned and translate them into reusable standards for future EMS and electronics transfersMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience or Master's degree with 6+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical disciplineExperience in electronics manufacturing, EMS operations, manufacturing engineering, supplier engineering, industrialization, or technology transferPreferred QualificationsStrong experience with EMS providers, PCB assembly operations, electronics manufacturing, electrical test, and supplier process developmentKnowledge of SMT, through-hole assembly, soldering processes, cable and harness assembly, conformal coating, ESD controls, and electronics test methodsExperience with NPI, design transfer, process validation, production ramp-up, and supplier readiness assessmentsFamiliarity with IPC standards, electronics quality requirements, traceability, change control, and regulated manufacturing practicesExperience supporting complex instrumentation, analytical systems, life sciences equipment, diagnostics platforms, automation systems, or high-tech electronics productsExperience with ERP, PLM, MES, test data systems, document management platforms, or manufacturing analytics toolsStrong structured problem-solving skills for yield improvement, defect reduction, and supplier corrective actionDemonstrated ability to influence cross-functional engineering, supplier, quality, and operations teamsExcellent technical documentation, communication, and presentation skillsKey CompetenciesElectronics manufacturing process ownership and technical depthSupplier industrialization and EMS execution disciplineData-driven yield improvement and structured problem-solvingStrong collaboration across engineering, quality, and supplier teamsQuality-focused execution and attention to detailContinuous improvement mindset with measurable business impactAbility to manage ambiguity in a global matrix environment
