Introduction (NPI) projects, ensuring on-time material readiness, effective supplier integration, and achievement of cost, delivery, quality, and risk targets from concept through product launch and early ramp-up.Working under the leadership of the Senior Manager Procurement / NPI, this role translates NPI sourcing strategies into consistent, measurable, and results-driven execution, ensuring that supplier selection, early supplier engagement, efficient prototype sourcing, and industrialization activities are performed with speed, quality, and alignment to business objectives within cross-functional project teams.The role acts as the operational procurement lead in NPI programs, operates with strong execution discipline, provides data-driven recommendations, and proactively manages risks.Scale of ResponsibilitiesAct as the single point of contact for all procurement topics within assigned NPI project teams.Own end-to-end procurement execution for assigned NPI projects (concept → launch → ramp-up)Ensure on-time material readiness for prototypes, pilot builds, and production ramp-upExecute sourcing strategies in alignment with Category Management and NPI leadershipDeliver against project procurement objectives, including cost targets, supplier readiness, delivery performance, and risk mitigationPrepare data-driven recommendations for supplier selection and make-or-buy decisions to support leadership decision-makingTrack execution progress, ensure early risk identification, and drive mitigation actionsEnsure alignment with procurement processes and NPI governanceTechnical ResponsibilitiesSupplier & Sourcing ExecutionTranslate product requirements into supplier capability needs and sourcing actionsEnsure early supplier selection and onboarding from initial development phases in alignment with defined sourcing strategiesOwn and track compliance with preferred supplier strategies from project start, including tracking % of spend with preferred suppliersDrive early supplier involvement (ESI) to support design-for-cost, manufacturability, and supplier readinessSupport R&D by sourcing and ordering prototype materials in early development phases to enable optimal supplier selection and fast iteration cyclesCost & Price ManagementExecute should-costing, cost tracking, and benchmarking to meet target costDevelop and maintain a price roadmap (up to 3 years post-launch) for key suppliers and componentsRisk ManagementIdentify, track, and mitigate supply chain risks at project levelEnsure early identification and escalation of critical risks (cost, delivery, supplier readiness, sole sources)Drive mitigation actions and maintain transparency within project teamsKPI OwnershipOwn, track, and manage NPI procurement KPIs, including material readiness, cost vs. target, supplier readiness and performance, risk status, and preferred supplier compliance (%)Supplier Performance & Lifecycle OwnershipOwn supplier performance Engineering, Business Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Experience7+ years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experienceProven experience in NPI, product development, or project sourcing environmentsExperience working in cross-functional, technical project teamsExperience with supplier selection, qualification, and industrializationKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesStrong estimated for this position based in California is $112,500.00–$168,750.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
