Work ScheduleStandard (Mon-Fri)Environmental ConditionsOfficeJob DescriptionDESCRIPTION:Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where you'll manage and enhance strategic sourcing initiatives as a Procurement Partner.The Procurement Partner supports and enables the Division in meeting their operations, innovation and financial targets by managing the required supplier capabilities and performance for assigned projects and categories. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to deliver value through cost savings, risk mitigation, and supply chain optimization.You'll support our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer by ensuring reliable, cost-effective procurement of critical materials and services.ResponsibilitiesIdentifies supplier capability requirements and selects suppliersManages procurement and supply base related projects that contribute to improved supplier spend performanceSupports divisional footprint initiatives outsourcing /insourcing (both Operations and R&D) including realization of local/regional supply base solutionsTranslates divisional requirements for (future) supplier capabilities and supplier performance to Category Management Team and divisional SQE teamSupports Supplier supply capacity management by conducting capacity assessments and collaborate with the Category Management Teams to expand required supply options as well as supply flexibilityCoordinates business projects (e.g. M&A integration), provides input to make or buyTechnical ResponsibilitiesCollects supplier (technical) capability requirements for current and future product portfolio as input for supplier scoutingGathers Division business requirements and assures compliance to regulatory requirementsServes as point of contact for Procurement within the DivisionContributes to divisional procurement metrics for business reviewsServes as the point of contact and ensure the implementation of Enterprise Processes such as Supplier Quality, Supplier Risk and Supplier ManagementDrives and tracks compliance for indirect materials, as well as link with Global team for policies and proceduresLeadership ResponsibilitiesRepresents Procurement in NPI projects and coordinate supply base related activities with x-functional division team as well as with Category Managers. Conduct all related sourcing project management activities (including project milestone/ gate pass activities)Partners with Category Managers, R&D, Engineering to support and project manage annual value improvements and drives competitive advantageUses ‘scouting approach’ to influence R&D and Commercial partners earlier in NPI process, monitor product pipeline (LCM), support product platformingRequirements:Advanced Degree plus 3 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of procurement/sourcing experience in mid to large multinational companies, with strong category management expertisePreferred Fields of Study: Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related fieldProfessional certifications (CPSM, CSCP, CPM) are desirableProven success executing strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, and contract managementExperience working in regulated industries like life sciences, medical devices, or pharmaceuticals preferredStrong analytical and data-driven decision making capabilitiesProficiency with MS Office and ERP systems, spend analytics, and procurement toolsExcellent communication and relationship building skillsStrong project management capabilitiesFluency in English required; additional languages beneficialComprehensive understanding of procurement best practices, processes and methodologiesExperience with continuous improvement/lean methodologiesAbility to travel 25-50% as requiredBenefits:Competitive remunerationAnnual incentive plan bonus schemeHealth insurancePrivate pension contributionCafeteria BenefitsThermo Fisher Scientific offers employment with an innovative, forward-thinking organization, and outstanding career and development prospects. Required Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree plus 3 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of procurement/sourcing experience in mid to large multinational companies, with strong category management expertise (experience, 3 years)
  • Preferred Fields of Study: Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field (experience)
  • Professional certifications (CPSM, CSCP, CPM) are desirable (certification)
  • Proven success executing strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, and contract management (experience)
  • Experience working in regulated industries like life sciences, medical devices, or pharmaceuticals preferred (experience)
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision making capabilities (experience)
  • Proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems, spend analytics, and procurement tools (experience)
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills (experience)
  • Strong project management capabilities (experience)
  • Fluency in English required; additional languages beneficial (experience)
  • Comprehensive understanding of procurement best practices, processes and methodologies (experience)
  • Experience with continuous improvement/lean methodologies (experience)
  • Ability to travel 25-50% as required (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Identifies supplier capability requirements and selects suppliers
  • Manages procurement and supply base related projects that contribute to improved supplier spend performance
  • Supports divisional footprint initiatives outsourcing /insourcing (both Operations and R&D) including realization of local/regional supply base solutions
  • Translates divisional requirements for (future) supplier capabilities and supplier performance to Category Management Team and divisional SQE team
  • Supports Supplier supply capacity management by conducting capacity assessments and collaborate with the Category Management Teams to expand required supply options as well as supply flexibility
  • Coordinates business projects (e.g. M&A integration), provides input to make or buy
