You'll work collaboratively across functions to drive trade compliance excellence through policy implementation, transaction monitoring, and process improvements.You'll manage day-to-day import/export activities including classification, screening, licensing and documentation while providing guidance to internal teams. The role requires strong analytical skills to review complex regulations, resolve compliance issues, and identify process improvements. You'll maintain accurate records, conduct audits, and generate compliance metrics while building productive relationships with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders.This position offers opportunities for professional growth and development in an innovative organization committed to integrity and excellence. You'll make meaningful contributions to facilitating global trade while ensuring regulatory compliance and managing risk.ResponsibilitiesDrive compliance excellence across all AAT (GC/GCMS/TEA) development and product modification projects through:Researching and interpreting current standards and regulations to ensure CE, NRTL, and other required compliancesDesigning and executing comprehensive internal and external testing strategies to meet regulatory requirementsManaging third-party testing partnerships and implementing corrective actionsEvaluating deviations and their impact on project timelines and product development outcomesServe as CE representative for AAT Business Unit devices, creating and maintaining technical product documentation (e.g., CE Technical Files)Champion process optimization initiatives to strengthen compliance in development and production workflowsProactively monitor and implement updates to evolving standards, regulations, and directivesAct as the go-to expert for compliance guidance throughout the AAT product lifecycleCollaborate cross-functionally with compliance specialists and quality teams across divisionsLead compliance coordination efforts across multiple Thermo Fisher AAT sites globallyLeverage emerging technologies, including AI-driven tools, to enhance compliance workflows and documentation accuracyQualificationsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent technical qualification combined with relevant professional experienceDeep understanding of regulatory frameworks including EN 61010, EN 60601, Low Voltage Directive, Machinery Regulation, and IVD RegulationFunctional Safety Engineer certification (preferred)CE representative certification (preferred)Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in fast-paced environmentsExceptional communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across teams and culturesSelf-directed work approach with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesSkilled at interpreting complex technical standards and translating them into actionable requirementsFluent English communication skills; additional languages are a plusWillingness to travel up to 20 % as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent technical qualification combined with relevant professional experience (experience)
  • Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks including EN 61010, EN 60601, Low Voltage Directive, Machinery Regulation, and IVD Regulation (experience)
  • Functional Safety Engineer certification (preferred) (certification)
  • CE representative certification (preferred) (certification)
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in fast-paced environments (experience)
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across teams and cultures (experience)
  • Self-directed work approach with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities (experience)
  • Skilled at interpreting complex technical standards and translating them into actionable requirements (experience)
  • Fluent English communication skills; additional languages are a plus (experience)
  • Willingness to travel up to 20 % as needed (experience)
