Work ScheduleOtherEnvironmental ConditionsLaboratory Setting, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.), Will work with hazardous/toxic materialsJob DescriptionWorking flexible (day) hours up to maximum 20 hours per weekPerforms laboratory procedures such as blood harvesting and urine monitoring according to protocol as assigned as well as any special procedures. Works with site staff and coordinators in assuring the smooth and orderly flow of procedures in the Clinics, Lab and Urine Monitoring areas*This is a great opportunity for individuals that have experience from study placements or those looking to step into a laboratory based research environment. You'll be joining a supportive team working closely with experienced professionals - training will be provided!*Essential functions:Collects and harvest plasma, serum, and all other required laboratory specimens according to protocol specifications. Monitors the collection of urine and/or fecal specimens from subjects participating in studies. Completes all required study documents and might need to be trained on special equipment per protocol. Assures that all procedures and processing areas are maintained in a neat, clean, and organized manner. Performs other duties as assigned. · May serve as a mentor and trainer to new technicians.Qualifications:Education and Experience:Fluency in the Czech or Slovak language is highly preferredInterest in working in a laboratory based environmentHigh / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualificationNo previous certificate needed, all necessary training will be provided Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the jobKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Detail orientedStrong time management skillsAbility to multi-taskGeneral computer skills including Microsoft OfficeWritten and verbal communication skillsAbility to work under constant exposure to high pressure, intense concentrationAbility to work well in a collaborative team environmentKnowledge of lab instrumentation and testing proceduresWorking Conditions and Environment:Work is performed in a clinical environment.Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organismsPhysical Requirements:Frequently stationary for 4-6 hours per day.Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.Occasional mobility required.Occasional crouching, stooping, bending and twisting of upper body and neck.Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computerAbility to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.May interact with others, relating and gathering sensitive information. Interaction includes diverse groups.Works with guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions from management. May require periods of intense concentration.Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence.
