In this role, you'll conduct research and development activities across various electro chemical and analytical disciplines, working on projects that impact human health, environmental protection, and scientific advancement. You'll work with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize analytical methods, resolve complex technical challenges, and advance product innovation. This position offers excellent opportunities for professional growth while contributing to our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct innovative research and development in the field of water analysis, focusing on the development of new sensors and analytical methods for pH, conductivity, TOC, chlorine, ion-selective electrodes, dissolved oxygen, and related applications.Explore and evaluate new concepts by designing experiments, developing and troubleshooting prototype hardware and software, and characterizing system performance to validate proof of concept.Collaborate with engineers and chemists to design, develop, and refine prototypes and new products. .Prepare invention disclosures and contribute to patent applications where applicable.Effectively manage and prioritize daily assignments to ensure timely project execution.Maintain laboratory reagents, equipment, and work environments required to support research activities.Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.Support the transfer of new products from R&D to Manufacturing.Provide product sustaining support to address customer and business needs.Develop SOPs and work instructions in accordance with quality management standards and regulatory requirements.Contribute to scientific publications and conference presentations when opportunities arise.RequirementsPhD in Electrochemistry or a related field, or MSc/BS degree with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.Experience in R&D related to water analysis and associated laboratory or process instrumentation.Strong knowledge of electrochemistry and sensor technologies.Proficiency in operating analytical instrumentation and applying analytical chemistry principles.Strong technical expertise in water analysis technologies.Experience in new product development is an advantage.Solid understanding of instrumentation principles and troubleshooting techniques.Hands-on experience with analytical chemistry, electrochemical sensors/electrodes, reagent-based colorimetric instruments, and chemical analysis methods.Strong foundation in electrochemistry, wet chemistry testing, and analytical methodologies.Demonstrated achievements through scientific publications, patents, or other technical contributions.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExcellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.Strong initiative with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a structured approach to problem-solving.Ability to plan, define, and manage project tasks accurately and efficiently.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.Commitment to Thermo Fisher Scientific’s core values, Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.
