DESCRIPTIONJoin the Biosciences Division (BID) team in Eugene, OR, where you'll advance manufacturing excellence and contribute to impactful solutions. This role offers the opportunity to solve complex technical challenges while supporting our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer.As a Staff Manufacturing Engineer, you'll provide the following:Perform maintenance, trouble shooting, and continuous improvement activities for equipment automationTechnical leadership for complex manufacturing processesCollaboration across multiple functions to enhance production efficiency, ensure product quality, and implement advanced technologiesSite technical leadership for larger capital projects in partnership with divisional project management and validation resourcesREQUIREMENTSAdvanced Degree plus 4 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 6 years of experience in manufacturing engineering in regulated industries (pharmaceutical, medical device, or biotechnology preferred)Preferred Fields of Study: Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial or related field)Working knowledge of automation systems, PLC-based controls, and control system architecture sufficient to troubleshoot equipment and work with suppliers or controls specialistsStrong project management experience leading equipment improvements, modifications, productivity projects, and small capital equipment projectsExperience developing and executing validation protocols and documentation for equipment and process changes in regulated environmentsAbility to manage multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic environmentUp to 10% travel may be requiredDESIRED QUALIFICATIONSDirect PLC or HMI programming and controls-system commissioning experienceExpertise in CAD software, CMMS systems such as Ultimo, and relevant engineering software packagesExperience with Azure DevOps, Agile Scrum, or gated engineering project frameworksExperience leading complex capital equipment or facility projectsProject management and validation leadership for equipment improvements, modifications, productivity initiatives, and small capital projectsProfessional Engineering designation or relevant certifications

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree plus 4 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 6 years of experience in manufacturing engineering in regulated industries (pharmaceutical, medical device, or biotechnology preferred) (experience, 4 years)
  • Preferred Fields of Study: Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial or related field) (experience)
  • Working knowledge of automation systems, PLC-based controls, and control system architecture sufficient to troubleshoot equipment and work with suppliers or controls specialists (experience)
  • Strong project management experience leading equipment improvements, modifications, productivity projects, and small capital equipment projects (experience)
  • Experience developing and executing validation protocols and documentation for equipment and process changes in regulated environments (experience)
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic environment (experience)
  • Up to 10% travel may be required (experience)
  • Direct PLC or HMI programming and controls-system commissioning experience (experience)
  • Expertise in CAD software, CMMS systems such as Ultimo, and relevant engineering software packages (experience)
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Agile Scrum, or gated engineering project frameworks (experience)
