We boldly go.Where is the work:On-Site (5 days) Job Summary: Serve the production environment through leadership tasks, as well as supporting the manufacturing process through technical skill such as welding or assembly. A significant amount of time will be spent performing production assembly. Instructs others on how to perform all jobs within the team and trains new team members while communicating with material handlers, other team leaders, and production leaders to ensure material flow.ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate an absolute commitment to safety and models safe behavior; acts as safety champion for team.Demonstrate through actions and behavior a commitment to quality; acts as quality champion for team.Must demonstrate proficiency of all jobs within the team; coordinates team job rotation schedule and flexing of team members in assigned work area to ensure one piece work flow and that the team’s production goals are achieved.Effectively communicate with associates at all levels including material handlers, production leaders, etc.Knowledge & understanding of operational excellence and compliance with completing all standard work required of the team leader position.Update MDI boards and maintain simple metrics and prioritizationRecommend work schedules and coordination of workforce planningDoes job hazard assessments and simple EHS related tasksDeveloping and encouraging team members to meetImproving the line through simple problem solvingSupport the manufacturing process through technical skill such as welding or assemblyQualifications and Requirements:High School Diploma or GED required2 years or more manufacturing experience preferredHas not completed TLDP or another Leadership training courseExperience influencing othersKnowledge and application of the Lean PrinciplesWillingness to learnAbility to train othersMust have good written and oral interpersonal communication skills.Team focused and cooperative across teams and shifts.Must be able to demonstrate sustained exemplary performance in attitude, attendance and ability.Knowledge of OPEX preferredMust display initiative and creativity in problem solving.Must promote a clear quality vision.Must be able to promote continuous improvement in products, services and processes.Must be able to demonstrate strong computer skills. (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Physical Requirements:Perform tasks requiring hand and eye coordination, with good hand dexterity (gripping and pinching repetitively) for more than 2/3’s of work shiftLift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 10 pounds continuously, 25 pounds repetitively and 50 pounds occasionally.
