Imagine loving what you do and where you do it.Job CategoryClaimTarget Openings1What Is the Opportunity?We are looking for an experienced Claims Handler to join our Dublin office, bringing strong expertise in claims handling in the Republic of Ireland to manage a broad range of complex claims generally valued in excess of €100,000. The portfolio will consist predominantly of Casualty (Employers’ Liability, Public Liability, Product Liability and Cyber/Tech liability – bodily injury and third-party property damage) and first-party Property lines of business. Experience of handling professional indemnity and medical mal-practice claims would be useful but not essential. Similarly, the ability to handle P&C claims in the UK and Northern Ireland would be useful but, again, not essential.Under general direction, the successful candidate will provide market leading expert claim handling in areas of investigation, evaluation, negotiation and resolution of assigned claims in accordance with the Company's policies, procedures, best practices and controls at all times of claims arising from designated line(s) of business. This role does not manage others. This role is a Controlled Function holder (CF6) within the Senior Executive Accountability Regime (SEAR) as set out in the Individual Accountability Framework (IAF) Act 2023 and in accordance with the rules and regulations of the regulators. In this regulated position we will assess and certify that you have met the applicable standards of Fitness and Probity (F&P) on appointment and annually thereafter. Under SEAR you are required to abide by the Conduct Standards. This policy may be changed at the Company’s discretion.What Will You Do?To manage and handle a diverse portfolio of complex and often large claims arising from the assigned line(s) of business.To open new claims and to set reserves within predetermined authority levels; to carry out early appropriate investigations in respect of policy coverage, liability and quantum.To discuss, agree tactics and reserving strategy with senior colleagues on cases with a financial potential over your own authority level.Fairly, promptly and proactively negotiates settlement of claims and communicates promptly on cover.Reserves claims accurately in accordance with Company guidelines and best practices, ensures that Company service standards are upheld and maintains data accuracy.Ensures that vendors provide a market leading, cost effective service to both insured and the company by continually monitoring their performance, cost and quality.Provides market leading claim service working closely with the Claim Management team and the broader business to deliver and enhance the claim offering.Maintains a close collaborative working relationship with underwriters, actuaries and risk management, and where appropriate, promotes the interests of Travelers by working with other business areas.To work as a team member providing such support as required by other members of the team and to fully participate in individual and shared project work.Partners with Underwriting to sell and market business and strengthen external client relationships.Attend to the Insured and Brokers and to promote the values of the department and the company and the services that it provides.Perform other duties as assigned.What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?Thorough technical expertise with proven track record managing key client accounts, addressing trends and issues affecting their business and mitigating risks and exposures required.Advanced communication skills.Advanced customer focus.Intermediate strategic planning.Intermediate business perspective.Intermediate ability to build collaborative relationships.Intermediate openness to influence, flexibility Intermediate team work.Advanced credibility.Team player with positive attitude and effective engagement skills.What is a Must Have?Significant experience and sound judgment handling claims within assigned line(s) of business.Accredited Product Advisor (APA) qualified or above.What Is in It for You?Private Medical Insurance: On commencement of employment, you are eligible for single cover provided by Travelers, with the option to add cover for your dependents, at your expense through payroll deduction.Retirement: Travelers will make a core contribution of a percentage of salary to your Pension Plan.
