Job DescriptionGeneral Summary:The Director, Commercial Training will work to enhance the skills and knowledge competencies of commercial and other relevant teams. This role will be primarily responsible for developing and executing training and development strategy ensuring commercial teams are equipped to excel. This role will work cross-functionally across a variety of internal stakeholders.This role involves leading a team, managing training portfolios, and fostering collaboration with cross-functional partners to drive exceptional performance. As a people manager within the organization, this role may have financial accountabilities and human resource responsibilities for assigned staff.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Creates a comprehensive learning-strategy that supports teams and organizational goalsConducts performance analyses to accurately diagnose and identify the skill/knowledge gaps required to support workplace competenciesMatches the most appropriate learning solution to maximize workplace performanceConducts training needs assessments and designs continuous learning initiatives consistent with findings and needs of the businessServe on the relevant leadership team, contributing to strategic decision-making.Develop and implement the vision and strategy for training and capabilities.Perform training needs assessments and design continuous learning initiatives tailored to specific teams.Leads and facilitates the Initial Training Class (ITC), and Phase 2 classes for all newly hired membersManages a training budget on a quarterly and annual basisCollaborates with cross-functional teams to plan, design and deliver all related trainingLeads scientific discussions on product and clinical topicsManages and mentors a team and individualsAs a people manager within the organization, this role may have financial accountabilities and human resource responsibilities for assigned staff.Knowledge and Skills:Customer-facing experience in the pharmaceutical / biotech industryExperience in training design and developmentTraining experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry related to rare diseaseDemonstrates the ability to work independently and manage projects that require collaboration across functional areasExperience managing and mentoring direct reportsSpecific competencies related to instructional designConduct a needs assessment/analysisPlan and monitor training projectsAssess the relevant characteristics of the target audience and learning environmentPerform job, task, and/or content analysisWrite criterion-referenced, performance-based objectivesSelect instructional mediaRecommend instructional strategies and planCertified in instructional designEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in relevant disciplineAdvanced degree in education, instructional design or related fieldTypically requires 10 years of work experience and 3 years of supervisory/management experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experiencePay Range:$192,000 - $288,000Disclosure Statement:The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements.
