Progress starts with you.Job DescriptionThe Director – Card Benefit Partner Strategy & Development role is responsible for executing Visa’s U.S. card benefits strategy. The successful candidate will develop and execute partner-sourcing strategies across key categories to create differentiated card benefits for Visa’s issuing clients. Focus categories include retail, subscription services, health and wellness, and travel, with benefit constructs such as upgraded experiences, premium status in loyalty programs, and complimentary services from in-demand providers. This is a business development role in which the candidate will identify potential partners, conduct outreach, negotiate deal terms, and manage the contracting process. The role requires close engagement with product platform teams, key vendors, and cross-functional partners across Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Client Management. This position will be based in Visa’s San Francisco or Foster City office.All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.Key Responsibilities:Develop partnership strategies by vertical and consumer passion area.Conduct outreach to prospective partners, leveraging Visa’s merchant relations teams where appropriate.Negotiate complex partnership deals, including benefit constructs, user experience flows, and commercial terms.Lead cross-functional collaboration with internal partners across Marketing, Sales, Sponsorships, Sourcing, and Legal.Partner with the benefit management team to ensure seamless onboarding, ongoing management, and performance optimization.Support advisory engagements with financial institution and cobrand clients to define product-level benefit strategies.Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager. QualificationsBasic Qualifications:10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhDPreferred Qualifications:12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD.Experience in creating vision statements and setting product goals.Experience in partnership development, business development or sales & marketing.Experience in customer discovery and the design of new products based on that discovery.Experience in product execution.Experience in defining and leading plans to achieve product goals.Experience working in Agile frameworks and matrixed organizations.Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams.Strong commercial acumen and ability to forecast business trends.Demonstrated experience developing and executing complex partnerships for consumer-facing products or servicesExperience in Digital Payments, and Financial Services.Ability to collaborate and work effectively across functional areas to influence and achieve consensus on goals and objectives Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated intellectual rigor.Experience managing diverse teams with positive records.Information for US ApplicantsFor roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $192,300.00 to $ 307,600.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
