Progress starts with you.Job DescriptionThe Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for moderate to complex level tax withholding, reporting, analysis, audit and year end activities to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of payroll taxes for internal and external purposes.Key Responsibilities:Handle escalation in the resolution of tax notices and discrepancies referred by federal, state, and local agencies in a timely manner to mitigate potential penalties and interestReview and resolve payroll tax errorAbility to analyze and calculate retroactive tax, gross to net calculations including tax withholdingProcess W-2 Corrections and Reissues in accordance with IRS RegulationTimely handle and resolve issues including handling employee escalations, perform and document root cause analysis. and recommend remedial procedures to close gaps identified.Resolve employee tax data issues including tax data integrity assurance activitiesProvide problem resolution support for tax related issuesPerform controls to ensure compliance with internal controls and governing federal and state laws. Assist team in researching complex tax issues as needed.Provide payroll tax-related support for mergers, acquisitions and divestituresPerform quarterly and annual tax balancing activitiesManages payroll tax related special projects required for process improvements and/or implementation of new processes Additional duties as requiredVisa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager. QualificationsBasic Qualifications:2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)Preferred Qualifications:3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)Bachelor’s Degree (B. A.) or equivalent, 5- 7 years Payroll Tax ExperienceKnowledge of multi-state and multi-5 payroll tax laws, Canada knowledge preferredTax analyst experience including multistate, localities and reciprocityStrong attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skillsInformation for US ApplicantsFor roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $76,000 to $117,700 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.Work HoursVaries upon the needs of the department.Travel RequirementsThis position requires travel 5-10% of the time.Mental/Physical RequirementsThis position will be performed in an office setting.   • Knowledge of multi-state and multi-5 payroll tax laws, Canada knowledge preferred (experience)
  • Tax analyst experience including multistate, localities and reciprocity (experience)
  • Strong attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills (experience)

Responsibilities
