Progress starts with you.Job DescriptionVisa Corporate Tax has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Tax Analyst to join our dynamic team of tax professionals. Reporting to the Director of State Compliance, you will be primarily responsible for income and franchise, property, sales and use, and other indirect tax compliance. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong understanding of tax technical data analytics, excellent project management and communication skills, and the ability to partner effectively across business functions.The Senior Tax Analyst’s responsibilities will include preparing federal and state income tax returns, estimates, and extensions, assisting with quarterly tax forecasts, and indirect tax (property, sales and use, gross receipts, business licenses) compliance. This individual will also be expected to perform research on various tax topics, draft technical memos to summarize conclusions, and communicate results to management. This role works closely with other staff members including the tax provision and international tax teams, so being able to work effectively in a collaborative environment is essential. Candidates who have proven success implementing process improvements as well as excellent technology skills are highly desired.All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.Key Responsibilities:Preparation of proforma federal returns and detailed supporting workpapersPreparation of state and local income/franchise tax returnsCalculation of state apportionment factors for multiple states and entitiesCalculation of federal and state estimated tax payments and extensionsAssist with quarterly federal and state income tax forecasts and cash flow analysesCoordinate with outside service providers on preparation of indirect tax returnsCoordinate with Legal Department on filing of all business licensesPerform federal and state tax research and draft memos supporting conclusionsAssist with providing supporting data for quarterly and annual tax provisionsMonitor federal and state legislative changes to evaluate and quantify the impacts to VisaReview and respond to notices from tax authoritiesIdentify and implement process improvements to increase efficienciesAssist with special projects as neededThis role is a Hybrid position to be based in our Foster City, CA office location.QualificationsBasic Qualifications:5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhDPreferred Qualifications:6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhDBachelor 's degree in Accounting or directly related field5 or more years of progressive tax experience with a Big 4 accounting firm and/or a large corporate tax departmentCPA and/or Master’s Degree in TaxationStrong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Oracle, and OneSourceProficiency with automation tools such as Alteryx, Power Query and Power BIStrong communication skills, both written and oral, to clearly communicate complex tax and accounting issuesExcellent tax research skills and attention to detailSelf-motivated, can act independently and take ownership of assigned areas while also demonstrating strong interpersonal, team and partnering skillsProven ability to handle competing deadlines, identify automation opportunities and provide technology solutionsSuccess building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external business partnersInformation for US ApplicantsFor roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $129,200.00 to $ 206,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD (experience, 3 years)
  • Bachelor 's degree in Accounting or directly related field (degree in accounting or directly related field)
  • 5 or more years of progressive tax experience with a Big 4 accounting firm and/or a large corporate tax department (experience)
  • CPA and/or Master’s Degree in Taxation (degree in master)
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Oracle, and OneSource (experience)
  • Proficiency with automation tools such as Alteryx, Power Query and Power BI (experience)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, to clearly communicate complex tax and accounting issues (experience)
  • Excellent tax research skills and attention to detail (experience)
  • Self-motivated, can act independently and take ownership of assigned areas while also demonstrating strong interpersonal, team and partnering skills (experience)
